Gasification of biomass and recycled fuels is of particular interest for the efficient production of power and heat. Trace elements present as impurities in the product gas should be removed very efficiently. The objective of this work has been to develop and test thermodynamic models for the reactions of trace elements with chlorine and sulfur in the gasification processes of recycled fuels. UAV-Aided Multi-Antenna Covert Communication Against Multiple Wardens

In this paper, we propose a UAV-aided covert communication scheme assisted by a multi-antenna jammer to maximize the transmission rate between a ground transmitter and a UAV receiver against several randomly distributed wardens. The transmitter adopts the maximum ratio transmission, while the jammer zero-forces its transmitted signal at the UAV to disturb the monitoring at wardens without interfering the legitimate transmission. A novel teletraffic-based power saving scheme for cellular networks with microcells

As the number of network components increases to meet the explosion of mobile devices, power conservation has become an important strategy for network operators. In this paper, we propose a novel teletraffic-based approach to save power consumption of a three-cell microcellular network. When the traffic load in the middle cell is lower than certain threshold, the cell can be switched-off and its users will be covered by increasing the transmission power of one sector antenna in each of the two neighboring cells. Preamble Sampling MAC Protocol for Low Power Wireless Sensor Networks with IEEE 802.15.4 Transceivers

In this paper a preamble sampling MAC protocol for low power wireless sensor networks is proposed. The article describes the implementation of the protocol using network nodes equipped with the Chipcon CC2420 802.15.4 transceiver. The power consumption of the transceiver has been measured and the MAC protocol has been adapted to the transceiver properties. The results show the trade-off between power consumption and transmission delay for this algorithm during the communication process.
Efficient Design of Waveguide Manifold Multiplexers Based on Low-Order EM Distributed Models

In this paper, a new systematic technique to design manifold-coupled multiplexers in waveguide technology is proposed. The new technique uses generalized low-order electromagnetic (EM) distributed models, which constitute a half-way point between the fast, but imprecise, analytical models, and the more accurate, but costly, full-wave EM models. The method can be applied to contiguous and noncontiguous channel multiplexers, in both E-plane or H-plane configurations. This article analyzes the vulnerabilities of the dependence on hydropower in renewable energy production due to climate variation, as well as wind power penetration in Brazil, given a set of wind industry policies.
