Italy is the main recipient of asylum seekers in the European region, and Sicily is their first point of arrival. This geographical position creates a large job for Health Authorities to identify and deal with the health of immigrants. This study evaluates the prevalence of disease among asylum seekers, assessing which are associated factors.A cross-sectional study was conducted to analyse demographic and clinical data in an Acceptance Centres for Asylum Seekers from February 2012 to May 2013. A N O T Ā C I J A Bakalaura darba tēma- Priekšlaicīgi dzimušu bērnu aprūpe stacionārā. Šī tēma ir aktuāla, jo ik gadu pasaulē nāk 15 miljoni bērni, no kuriem vismaz viens no 10 jaundzimušajiem piedzimst pirms laika. Savukārt Latvijā apmēram 1000 bērni piedzimst pirms noteiktajā laika. Tas ir 5,2 – 6,4% no kopējā bērnu skaita. Darbs tika veikts ar mērķi- Neiznēsātu bērnu un bērnu ar mazu svaru barošanas teorētisko un praktisko jautājumu pētīšana. Pētniecības uzdevumi ir izpētīt un apkopot zinātnisko literatūru par priekšlaikus dzimuša bērna barošanu. Returns To Education During And After The Economic Crisis: Evidence From Latvia 2006–2012

We employ EU-SILC micro data for Latvia to study how returns to education changed during the economic crisis of 2008–2009 and afterwards. We found that returns to education increased significantly during the crisis and decreased slightly during the subsequent economic recovery. The counter-cyclical effect was evident in nearly all population groups. After the crisis, education became more associated than before with a longer working week and a higher employment probability. First World War Diaries: Making the Private Public

This article analyses several World War I Diaries written by soldiers on the Front. Starting with the circumstances of publication and their effects on the text, the article addresses the passage of these very private texts into public life, before turning to the role played by the diaries for the soldiers who write them. Studies of the diary as a genre are used to show how war diaries fit into the more general genre. Finally the article turns to the reception of these works, by studying what part literary distance may play for the soldiers keeping a diary, and by arguing that the task of making sense of these texts has been transferred to present-day readers.
