Large Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium deviations in the Daphnia longispina of Lake El Tobar

The population structure of Daphnia longispina in Lake El Tobar, Spain was studied by measuring variation at the aldehyde oxidase (AO), phosphoglucose isomerase (PGI) and phosphoglucose mutase (PGM) loci in each of 1337 individuals from four collections. In 9 of the 12 comparisons between observed allele frequencies and those expected by Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium there was an excess of heterozygotes. We found 27 of the potential number of 54 composite electromorphs (‘clones’) based on the three allozymes. Clone diversities were rather high in all collections. This paper studies the possibility to use efficient multimodal optimizers for multi-objective optimization. In this paper, the application area considered for such new approach is the optimal dispatch of energy sources in smart microgrids. The problem indeed shows a non uniform Pareto front and requires efficient optimal search methods. The idea is to exploit the potential of agents in population-based heuristics to improve diversity in the Pareto front, where solutions show the same rank and are thus equally weighted. Electromagnetic wave propagation in non-homogeneous waveguides

We investigate an electromagnetic waveguide, having several cylindrical ends. The waveguide is assumed to be empty and to have a perfectly conductive boundary. We study the electromagnetic field, excited in the waveguide in the presence of charges and currents. The field can be described as a solution of the stationary Maxwell system with conductive boundary conditions and “intrinsic” radiation conditions at infinity. We prove the problem to be well-posed. Electromagnetic waves propagation in the waveguide can be described by means of a scattering matrix. Asymptotic Hölder regularity for the ellipsoid process

We obtain an asymptotic Hölder estimate for functions satisfying a dynamic programming principle arising from a so-called ellipsoid process. By the ellipsoid process we mean a generalization of the random walk where the next step in the process is taken inside a given space dependent ellipsoid. This stochastic process is related to elliptic equations in non-divergence form with bounded and measurable coefficients, and the regularity estimate is stable as the step size of the process converges to zero. The proof, which requires certain control on the distortion and the measure of the ellipsoids but not continuity assumption, is based on the coupling method.
Convergence of dynamic programming principles for the $p$-Laplacian

We provide a unified strategy to show that solutions of dynamic programming principles associated to the $p$-Laplacian converge to the solution of the corresponding Dirichlet problem. Our approach includes all previously known cases for continuous and discrete dynamic programming principles, provides new results, and gives a convergence proof free of probability arguments.

We discuss the extension of some fundamental results in nonlinear analysis to the setting of ${0}_{\sigma }$ -complete metric-like spaces. Then, we show that these extensions can be obtained via the corresponding results in standard metric spaces.
