This paper introduces two general models for computing centiles when the response variable Y can take values between 0 and 1, inclusive of 0 or 1. The models developed are more flexible alternatives to the beta inflated distribution. The first proposed model employs a flexible four parameter logit skew Student t (logitSST) distribution to model the response variable Y on the unit interval (0, 1), excluding 0 and 1. Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and systems training for emotional predictability and problem solving (STEPPS) are two treatment protocols for people with borderline personality disorder (BPD) that have received important empirical support. However, their possible differential effectiveness has not yet been studied. The objective of this study is to explore the effectiveness of these two treatment programs. An ongoing debate regarding the perception of pitch and time is whether information on the two dimensions is processed independently or interactively. To study this, we tested whether listeners prefer sequences in which tonally stable tones coincide with rhythmically stable tones. Our study builds on a noted isomorphism between pitch intervals in the diatonic scale and tone durations in the standard rhythm originating in Ghana. Generalized heat equation and transitions between different heat-transport regimes in narrow stripes

Abstract In the framework of weakly nonlocal thermodynamic theory, in this paper we derive a nonlocal and nonlinear heat-transport equation beyond the Fourier law by means of thermodynamic considerations in agreement with the second law. The obtained equation describes the transitions among different heat-transport regimes. The stability of the solution of that equation is also analyzed in a special case.

The initial training phase of machine learning algorithms is usually computationally expensive as it involves the processing of huge matrices. Evolving datasets are challenging from this point of view because changing behavior requires updating the training. We propose a method for updating the training profile efficiently and a sliding window algorithm for online processing of the data in smaller fractions. This assumes the data is modeled by a kernel method that includes spectral decomposition. Beyond Tandem Analysis: Joint Dimension Reduction and Clustering in R

We present the R package clustrd which implements a class of methods that combine dimension reduction and clustering of continuous or categorical data. In particular, for continuous data, the package contains implementations of factorial K-means and reduced K-means; both methods combine principal component analysis with K-means clustering. For categorical data, the package provides MCA K-means, i-FCB and cluster correspondence analysis, which combine multiple correspondence analysis with K-means. Two examples on real data sets are provided to illustrate the usage of the main functions.

Pētījumā tika aprakstīti disfunkcionālas ģimenes faktori un bērnu uzvedības problēmas. Mērķis bija noskaidrot vai pastāv saistība starp bērna uzvedības traucējumiem un disfunkcionālas ģimenes faktoriem. Pētījuma izlase: 36 bērni un 36 mātes. Tika izmantota bērnu un vecāku forma “Bērna uzvedības novērtēšanas aptaujai” (Achenbach, Rescola, 2001), tika adaptēta un izmantota “Ģimenes novērtēšanas aptauja” (Epstein, Baldwin, Bishop, 2005).
