The article reviews research and findings on problems and issues faced when translating international academic achievement tests. The purpose is to draw attention to the problems, to help to develop the procedures followed when translating the tests, and to provide suggestions for further research. Tutkielman tavoite oli selvittää teknisen tekstin kääntämisessä esiintyviä käännösongelmia ja prosessin yleistä luonnetta. Aineistona käytettiin lehtitalojen käyttöön tarkoitetun jakeluohjelmiston suomenkielistä käyttöopasta, siitä itse tehtyjä käännöksiä englanniksi, sekä kääntämisen ohella kirjoitettua käännöspäiväkirjaa. Käännökset tehtiin osana kääntäjäharjoittelua ja ne tulivat kaupalliseen käyttöön. Problems of translating the laws of Rugby Union from English into Finnish

Tässä käännösteoreettisessa opinnäytetyössä tutkitaan rugbyn sääntöjen kääntämisessä ilmeneviä käännösongelmia sekä tapoja ratkaista niitä. Työ on kommentoitu käännös englanninkielisten rugbysääntöjen otteista, ja tutkimusaineistona on 9 englanninkielistä rugbysääntöä. Työssä analysoitiin ensin lähdetekstin urheilukieli, lakikieleen viittaavat ilmaukset sekä lähdetekstin tarkoitus eli skopos. Tämän jälkeen säännöt käännettiin suomeksi, ja kääntämisessä kohdatut käännösongelmat analysoitiin hyödyntämällä Katarina Reissin ja Hans Vermeerin skoposteoriaa sekä Christiane Nordin funktionaalista lähestymistapaa käännösongelmiin. Se abordan aquí tres aspectos relativos a la Ley española de eutanasia, promulgada el 24 de marzo de 2021, que resultan especialmente problemáticos: la falsa configuración de la eutanasia como un ?derecho subjetivo?, el falso protagonismo de la autonomía del sujeto y la calificación de la eutanasia como ?muerte natural?. Se sostiene la tesis de que la ley solo ha despenalizado el delito eutanásico cuando se realiza de acuerdo con los requisitos legales; de que no existe un derecho a la muerte y por tanto no es la voluntad del solicitante la que determina la prestación eutanásica y las repercusiones que se producirán en diversos ámbitos por la calificación de muerte natural.

Województwo opolskie jako region migracyjny od wielu lat zmaga się z niekorzystnymi skutkami zagranicznych wyjazdów zarobkowych. Dotyczy to zarówno zachowań migracyjnych ludności autochtonicznej, jak i nowych wyjazdów za granicę obserwowanych w województwie po akcesji do UE w 2004 r. The exopolysaccharide synthesized by Lactobacillus sakei MN1 is a dextran with antiviral and immunomodulatory properties of potential utility in aquaculture. In this work we have investigated the genetic basis of dextran production by this bacterium. Southern blot hybridization experiments demonstrated the plasmidic location of the dsrLS gene, which encodes the dextransucrase involved in dextran synthesis. DNA sequencing of the 11,126 kbp plasmid (pMN1) revealed that it belongs to a family which replicates by the theta mechanism, whose prototype is pUCL287. Abstract. Reasonable prediction of landslide occurrences in a given area requires the choice of an appropriate probability distribution of recurrence time intervals. Although landslides are widespread and frequent in many parts of the world, complete databases of landslide occurrences over large periods are missing and often such natural disasters are treated as processes uncorrelated in time and, therefore, Poisson distributed. In the present chapter we will explore education success in mathematics, in particular as regards reinforcing problem solving, trying to overcome a widespread view of deficit, which leads to attention being focused on what students cannot do or do not know how to do and which, in the majority of cases, is due to poor language proficiency. By focusing solely on these areas one runs the risk of involving students in simple cognitive activities that require the memorisation of rules and algorithms and the application of resolution strategies, which have already been dealt with, instead of more complex cognitive activities such as problem solving and argumentation. PsL Anne Puolakanaho selvitti väitöstutkimuksessaan, miten leikki-ikäisten 3 - 5-vuotiaiden lasten kielelliset ja kognitiiviset taidot ovat yhteydessä lukemisen virheettömyyteen ja sujuvuuteen kouluiässä. Puolakanaho tutki myös, missä määrin dysleksiaa eli sitkeää lukemisvaikeutta voidaan ennakoida lapsikohtaisesti, yksilöllisten riskitekijöiden perusteella jo huomattavasti ennen esikouluikää.
