The problem of artistic destruction and its reconstruction has been little studied. Using a microhistorical analysis method, we study the town of Lliria (Valencia) and its brotherhood of ?La Sang de Jesucrist? (had a great heritage from the 16th to the 19th centuries), and we also analyze how and why this destruction and reconstruction was generated during the context of the civil war. Problem Transformation Methods with Distance-Based Learning for Multi-Target Regression

Multi-target regression is a special subset of supervised machine learning problems. Problem transformation methods are used in the field to improve the performance of basic methods. The purpose of this article is to test the use of recently popularized distance-based methods, the minimal learning machine (MLM) and the extreme minimal learning machine (EMLM), in problem transformation. The main advantage of the full data variants of these methods is the lack of any meta-parameter. The experimental results for the MLM and EMLM show promising potential, emphasizing the utility of the problem transformation especially with the EMLM. peerReviewed

Displaying agency problems at the outset of psychotherapy

In order to present him- or herself at the outset of psychotherapy as a credible client, the person needs to, on one hand, formulate a sense of lost agency in accounts of his/her life situation, and on the other, to present him- or herself as willing and able to take part in conversational self-exploration. Computer aided scheduling and routing of vehicle-carrier fleet—a case study

This paper presents a case study of development of an information system for a large enterprise from vehicle-transport industry. A novel optimization model and algorithms developed to solve scheduling and routing of vehicle-carrier fleet are presented and discussed. Carried out qualitative experiments confirmed the usability of developed user-guided search paradigm and high performance of autonomous algorithmic solution search methods.

A Time-Non-Homogeneous Double-Ended Queue with Failures and Repairs and Its Continuous Approximation

We consider a time-non-homogeneous double-ended queue subject to catastrophes and repairs. The catastrophes occur according to a non-homogeneous Poisson process and lead the system into a state of failure. Instantaneously, the system is put under repair, such that repair time is governed by a time-varying intensity function. We analyze the transient and the asymptotic behavior of the queueing system. Moreover, we derive a heavy-traffic approximation that allows approximating the state of the systems by a time-non-homogeneous Wiener process subject to jumps to a spurious state (due to catastrophes) and random returns to the zero state (due to repairs).
