Estimates of the Distance to Exact Solutions of the Stokes Problem with Slip and Leak Boundary Conditions

We deduce a posteriori error estimates of functional type for the stationary Stokes problem with slip and leak boundary conditions. The derived error majorants do not contain mesh dependent constants and are valid for a wide class of energy admissible approximations that satisfy the Dirichlet boundary condition on a part of the boundary. Different forms of error majorants contain global constants associated with Poincaré type inequalities or the stability (LBB) condition for the Stokes problem or constants associated with subdomains (if a domain decomposition is applied). Darba mērķis bija izpētīt, kādas saistības pastāv starp virtuālo draudzību, pašefektivitāti, problemātisku interneta lietošanu un demogrāfiskās aptaujas rādītājiem pusaudžiem, kā arī atsevišķi zēniem un meitenēm; un kā šie mainīgie prognozē virtuālo draudzību. Pētījumā piedalījās 288 pusaudži vecumā no 11 līdz 18 gadiem (M = 13,96), no tiem 139 zēni (M = 14,22) un 149 meitenes (M = 13,72). Pētījumā tika izmantotas aptaujas, kas adaptētas šī darba ietvaros: 1. Problemātiskas interneta lietošanas skala pusaudžiem, 2. Virtuālās draudzības skala, 3. Pašefektivitātes skala bērniem. Colonization of adrenal glands and ovaries of mice by variants of HSV 1 and 2

The herpes simplex virus (HSV)-infected mouse model was used to correlate histopathological lesions in adrenal glands and ovaries with the localisation of viral nucleic acids and viral antigens, employing in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry. In the adrenals, the lesions were mainly restricted to the zona fasciculata and the zona reticularis, sometimes extending to the medulla. In the ovaries, lesions were detected in follicles and in the stroma. During the course of infection, HSV nucleic acids could be detected earlier than HSV proteins. A Cauchy viscoelastic problem perturbed by an inverse-square potential, and posed in an exterior domain of RN, is considered under a Dirichlet boundary condition. Using nonlinear capacity estimates specifically adapted to the non-local nature of the problem, the potential function and the boundary condition, we establish sufficient conditions for the nonexistence of weak solutions.

We establish regularity for functions satisfying a dynamic programming equation, which may arise for example from stochastic games or discretization schemes. The impact of children’s socioemotional development on parenting styles: the moderating effect of social withdrawal

This study focused on associations between children’s socioemotional development (prosocial behaviour, internalizing and externalizing problems) and parenting styles (affection, behavioural control, and psychological control), and the moderating role of children’s social withdrawal (as a temperamental characteristic) in these associations. Children’s socioemotional development (n = 314) were rated by teachers at three-time points (grades 1–3). Parents completed questionnaires measuring their parenting styles at the same three-time points. The level of social withdrawal was obtained at the end of kindergarten from teachers’ reports.
