Una pregunta que nos podemos hacer respecto a la certificación en la norma ISO 9000 de calidad es que si sirve para algo o si sólo es plasmar por escrito lo que se hace habitualmente en la empresa, esta pregunta la hemos realizado a las empresas certificadas de la Comunidad Valencia, junto con otras para averiguar si la implantación origina un incremento de productividad, y la importancia que le dan las empresas a los costes cuando se decide implantar los sistemas de calidad. El presente artículo realiza un análisis bibliométrico de la revista Psychology and Aging en el intervalo temporal 2003-2012. Esta revista es relevante en el área de la Gerontología y de la psicología del desarrollo. El objetivo de evaluar su productividad científica y principales características mediante indicadores generales. Para obtener los datos necesarios se ha empleado la plataforma WOK, SCImago Journal & Country Rank y Scopus, constituyendo un total de 887 trabajos. En este trabajo se estudian los diferentes sistemas salariales que vinculan los salarios con la productividad empresarial y los resultados de la empresa. De esta forma se analiza la dirección por objetivos (bonus salariales), la evaluación del desempeño, la retribución por competencias, las primas por productividad, la participación en beneficios de los trabajadores, la participación en el capital, en especial las opciones sobre acciones. Comparing the Productivity of the Latest Models of Li-Ion Battery and Petrol Chainsaws in a Conifer Clear-Cut Site

The recent technological development of batteries has allowed the production of powerful tools that are also used in forestry operations. For this reason, this study aimed to compare the performance of two latest chainsaw models in a conifer clear-cut. The examined chainsaws, the battery-powered Stihl MSA 300 and the petrol-powered MS 261 C-M, have comparable power and weight. The overall working times were recorded and then gross, net and felling/processing productivities were quantified. Our findings reported that in a working day (7.4 h gross time), each chainsaw felled and processed an average of 20 trees of 0.64 m3 with an average diameter at breast height of 28 cm. Firm Lifecycles and External Restructuring

This paper studies how firms contribute to the productivity growth of an industry over their lifecycle. We present a decomposition method that allows us to condition the components of productivity growth on the age of production units. We find evidence for a prolonged positive exit effect that mirrors market selection during the early stages of firms lifecycle. This effect is tightly related to the negative initial productivity effect of entry. We also find some evidence that productivity-enhancing reallocation of resources between firms is concentrated on the middle aged firms.

Are importing and exporting complements or substitutes in an emerging economy? The case of Colombia

The aim of this paper is to investigate the impact of two trading strategies (exporting and importing) on total factor productivity (TFP) and the potential complementarity/substitutability effects of these strategies. In order to assess these effects, robust estimates of TFP are obtained using a general method of moments approach that explicitly determines the ability of a firm's trading experience to affect productivity. Data from the Annual Manufacturing Survey spanning from 2007 to 2016 is used for Colombian manufacturing firms.
