Eight-membered heterocycles with two heteroatoms in a 1,2-relationship of interest in medicinal chemistry

Abstract This chapter treats 1,2-diheterocines, eight membered heterocyclic systems with two heteroatoms, N, O and S, in an 1,2 relationship, exhibiting biological properties and exhaustively covers the literature from 2007 to the end of November 2019. In this period of time 1,2-diazocine, 1,2-oxazocine, 1,2-dioxocin and 1,5-dithiocin ring systems had derivatives exhibiting pharmacological activities. No articles on biological properties have been reported for 1,2-thiazocines and 1,2-oxathiocins. Besides uncondensed derivatives, 1,2-diheterocines fused with five-, six-, and seven-membered carbocycles or heterocycles have been reviewed, as well as bridged 1,2-diheterocines.
An inverse problem for the fractional Schrödinger equation in a magnetic field

This paper shows global uniqueness in an inverse problem for a fractional magnetic Schrodinger equation (FMSE): an unknown electromagnetic field in a bounded domain is uniquely determined up to a natural gauge by infinitely many measurements of solutions taken in arbitrary open subsets of the exterior. The proof is based on Alessandrini's identity and the Runge approximation property, thus generalizing some previous works on the fractional Laplacian. Moreover, we show with a simple model that the FMSE relates to a long jump random walk with weights.

Outsourcing means using factors which are external to an organization to perform its functions whereas offshore outsourcing relies on using foreign resources to perform those functions. We focus in this paper on offshore outsourcing of information systems (ISs). We have conducted an exploratory case study of outsourcing IS support services. The services have been outsourced by a supplier organization which has been based in Finland. In Sicily, the genus Helleborus (Ranuculaceae) is only represented by H. bocconei subsp. siculus (= H. bocconei subsp. intermedius). In some mountain areas of the Island, the rhizomes of this plant, harvested in a particular month of the year (May) and dried, are used in traditional veterinary practice for treating pneumonia in domestic animals, cattle and horses in particular.
