Underwater Multirobot Cooperative Intervention MAC Protocol

2020

This work introduces a Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol designed to allow a group of underwater robots that share a wireless communication channel to effectively communicate with each other. The goal of the Underwater Multirobot Cooperative Intervention MAC (UMCI-MAC) protocol presented in this work is to minimize the end to end delay and the jitter. The access to the medium in UMCI-MAC follows a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) strategy which is arbitrated by a master, which also has the capability to prioritize the transmission of some nodes over the rest of the network. Two experiments have been carried out with a team of four Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) in order to comp…

Recognizing Video Resolution by Monitoring Memory Metrics in Mobile Clients

2019

Content delivery is one of the most successful applications in mobile networks. Mobile edge servers are significantly contributing to the improvement of this type of applications, by also performing resolution adaptations as a function of the radio link quality observed by the users. In this paper, we face the problem of dynamically tracking the perceived video resolution by mobile clients in a mobile edge environment to guarantee an agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA). To this purpose, we propose a protocol-agnostic approach, based on monitoring some memory metrics of a running video streaming process at the mobile client, for identifying the time-varying resolution of the video content.

Parents’ experiences of the transfer from pediatric to adult care for their adolescent or young adult children with chronic conditions: a systematic …

2014

Published version of an article in the journal: JBI Database of Systematic Reviews and Implementation Reports. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.11124/jbisrir-2014-1565 Open Access Review question/objective: The objective of this systematic review is to identify parents' experiences of adolescents and young adults (AYA) health care transfer from pediatric to adult care. 1. How do parents experience being prepared for the transfer from pediatric to adult care of their AYA with a chronic condition? 2. How do parents experience the event of transfer? 3. How does the type of chronic condition influence parents' experiences of AYAs' transfer from pediatric to adult care?…

Validation in Young Soccer Players of the Modified Version of the Harre Circuit Test: The Petrucci Ability Test

2021

The evaluation of soccer players’ physical fitness from youth onward is important for monitoring performance and planning training. While health-related factors present valid and reliable tests, the skill-related component should be studied in depth. An interesting test to evaluate the skill-related factors is the Harre circuit test (HTC); unfortunately, this test includes the somersault, an element not present in soccer. The aim of the present study is the validation of the Petrucci ability test (PAT), a variation of the HTC without the somersault for young soccer players. Children and adolescents (age range 10–13 years old) soccer players concluded the 20-m, the HTC and the PAT. To establ…

Obesity and survival in operable breast cancer patients treated with adjuvant anthracyclines and taxanes according to pathological subtypes: a pooled…

2013

Obesity is an unfavorable prognostic factor in breast cancer (BC) patients regardless of menopausal status and treatment received. However, the association between obesity and survival outcome by pathological subtype requires further clarification. METHODS: We performed a retrospective analysis including 5,683 operable BC patients enrolled in four randomized clinical trials (GEICAM/9906, GEICAM/9805, GEICAM/2003-02, and BCIRG 001) evaluating anthracyclines and taxanes as adjuvant treatments. Our primary aim was to assess the prognostic effect of body mass index (BMI) on disease recurrence, breast cancer mortality (BCM), and overall mortality (OM). A secondary aim was to detect differences o…

Expérimentations techniques à Lavau : mécanisation, relevés et prélèvements

2022
