A natural part of everyday life in the past, disasters have been reinvented by the modern world as a challenge that essentially needs to be eliminated from public life. Abstract During the first few minutes following fertilization a transient increase in the concentration of lactic acid occurs in the eggs of Arbacia lixula , whereas no change at all is observed in the eggs of Paracentrotus liuidus . In the eggs of Psammechinus miliaris there is a transient decrease, soon followed by a recovery so that the level of the unfertilized egg is again reached.

Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää, millä tavalla ja kuinka paljon englannin kielen vaikutus näkyy ruotsinkielisissä teksteissä, jotka oppilaat kirjoittivat lukio-opintojensa aikana. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli myös tutkia sitä, vähentyykö englannin kielen vaikutus sillä aikavälillä, jonka aikana tekstit on kirjoitettu. Tutkimukseen osallistui neljä oppilasta, joista kolme oli naispuolisia oppilaita ja yksi oli miespuolinen. Oppilaat kirjoittivat kolme tekstiä viidestä eri teemasta. Ensimmäinen teksti kaikista teemoista kirjoitettiin syksyllä 2010, toinen syksyllä 2011 ja kolmas keväällä 2012. Capsaicin desensitization in vivo is inhibited by ruthenium red.

The effect of systemic administration of Ruthenium Red on the excitatory and desensitizing effect of capsaicin was investigated in rats. Ruthenium Red was injected s.c. 30 min before capsaicin was administered. The excitatory effect of capsaicin on corneal, perivascular and visceral afferents was not influenced by treatment with Ruthenium Red. However, determination of the neuropeptide content and evoked neuropeptide release in peripheral organs and dorsal spinal cord 48 h after treatment showed that Ruthenium Red attenuated the 'desensitizing' effect of capsaicin at peripheral, but not at central, endings of primary afferents. Fast Computation by Subdivision of Multidimensional Splines and Their Applications

We present theory and algorithms for fast explicit computations of uni- and multi-dimensional periodic splines of arbitrary order at triadic rational points and of splines of even order at diadic rational points. The algorithms use the forward and the inverse Fast Fourier transform (FFT). The implementation is as fast as FFT computation. The algorithms are based on binary and ternary subdivision of splines. Interpolating and smoothing splines are used for a sample rate convertor such as resolution upsampling of discrete-time signals and digital images and restoration of decimated images that were contaminated by noise.
