Adaptation and Measurement Invariance by Gender of the Flourishing Scale in a Colombian Sample

There is increasing interest in the study of flourishing as an indicator of subjective wellbeing. The objective herein was to adapt and study the psychometric properties of Diener’s Flourishing Scale (FS) among the Colombian population. Accordingly, a cross-sectional study was conducted with a non-probability sample of 1255 Colombian adults. The scale’s structure, invariance by gender, and convergent and concurrent validity were studied from a confirmatory perspective using structural equation models. Bicultural couples: from family to community

The paper examines the dynamics of bicultural couples in which one partner is autochthonous and the other is of foreign nationality. Two levels of analysis were considered: a macro level studying the identity of place in reference to the general social context and the residential neighbourhood, in particular; the second level refers to the dynamics of the couple and examines the strategies for managing differences between partners and the educational styles adopted in the presence of children. With regard to a trip model articulated in contextual terms, the research proposes to trace the different expressive ways of some travellers in relationship to the places of which they had experience, with the purpose to emphasize the more stable personal learnings. The investigation moves from the administration of a semi-structured interview to 14 travellers, then analyzed through the IPA (Smith, Osborn 2003) and the CCRT (Luborsky, Crits-Christoph, 1990).
