Prehistoric Settlement and Population in the Madonie Mountains. New Data from the Archaeological Survey
2010
The aim of the Madonie research project is to analyse mobility strategies and the use of a mountainous territory by relating geomorphologic features, raw material sources and landscape to the prehistoric settlement. For this purpose we planned an intensive and systematic survey of sample areas, selected on geo-morphological, altimetric and archaeological criteria, correlated to a palaeoenvironmental investigation based on the study of palynological sequence samples coming from wet areas of the Madonie territory and from archaeological deposits. Le projet de recherche sur la Madonie analyse les stratégies de mobilité et l’exploitation du territoire de montagne, en reliant les caractéristique…
Spazializzazione
2013
Rather than focusing on the countryside and on some particular objects of the rural world, in our contribution we concentrate on a “thinking by new concepts”. Following the example of Deleuze, by opting for a refusal of neutralizing forms of representations, we devised a concept – spaction – in order to show the relationships that should be established nowadays between a rural world and the dynamics of people, spaces and museums.
Ecrire la cuisine
2020
The aim of this article is to approach the cusine recipe from a strictly semiotic point of view by first explaining the relation between food and language and then submitting the speech of the recipe to an analysis that throws light on the mechanisms of its discursive functioning. This article aims also to instrcut in a profound way the question of the many relationships, both constitutive and hidden, between culinary practices and language. Particular attention will be paid to the question of the relationship between historical and oral cooking recipes as well as to the communicative pact established by the cooking recipe.
On compact Just-Non-Lie groups
2007
A compact group is called a compact Just-Non-Lie group or a compact JNL group if it is not a Lie group but all of its proper Hausdorff quotient groups are Lie groups. We show that a compact JNL group is profinite and a compact nilpotent JNL group is the additive group of p -adic integers for some prime. Examples show that this fails for compact pronilpotent and solvable groups.
Probability of mutually commuting n-tuples in some classes of compact groups
2008
In finite groups the probability that two randomly chosen elements commute or randomly ordered n−tuples of elements mutually commute have recently attracted interest by many authors. There are some classical results estimating the bounds for this kind of probability so that the knowledge of the whole structure of the group can be more accurate. The same problematic has been recently extended to certain classes of infinite compact groups in [2], obtaining restrictions on the group of the inner automorphisms. Here such restrictions are improved for a wider class of infinite compact groups.

Proper $k$-ball-contractive mappings in $C_b^m[0, + infty)$
2021
In this paper we deal with the Banach space C-b(m)[0,+infinity] of all m-times continuously derivable, bounded with all derivatives up to the order m, real functions defined on [0, +infinity). We prove, for any epsilon > 0, the existence of a new proper k-ball-contractive retraction with k < 1+epsilon of the closed unit ball of the space onto its boundary, so that the Wosko constant W-gamma(C-b(m)[0,+infinity]) is equal to 1.
On some parameters related to weak noncompactness in L1(μ,E)
2009
A weak measure of noncompactness γU is defined in a Banach space in terms of convex compactness. We obtain relationships between the measure γU(A) of a bounded set A in the Bochner space L1(μ,E) and two parameters Π(A) and Λ1(A).

Lefschetz fixed-point theorem furnishes a way for counting the fixed points of a suitable mapping. In particular, the Lefschetz fixed-point theorem states that if Lefschetz number is not zero, then the involved mapping has at least one fixed point, that is, there exists a point that does not change upon application of mapping. ewline Let $f={f_q}:E o E$ be an endomorphism of degree zero of graded vector space $E={E_q}$. Let $ ilde{E}=E setminus {x in E : f^n(x)=0, mbox{ for some }n in mathbb{N}}$. Define the generalized Lefschetz number $Lambda(f)$ by $$Lambda(f)=sum_{q geq 0}(-1)^qmbox{Tr}(f_q),$$ where $mbox{Tr}(f)=mbox{tr}( ilde{f})$ is the generalized trace of $f$, ``tr'' is the ordinar…
Denjoy and P-path integrals on compact groups in an inversion formula for multiplicative transforms
2009
Abstract Denjoy and P-path Kurzweil-Henstock type integrals are defined on compact subsets of some locally compact zero-dimensional abelian groups. Those integrals are applied to obtain an inversion formula for the multiplicative integral transform.
