Can adjunctive corticosteroid therapy improve patient-centered outcomes following third molar surgery? A systematic review
2021
Third molar surgery is frequently associated with postoperative discomfort such as pain, edema and trismus. We aimed to evaluate the current evidence on the efficacy of adjunctive corticosteroid therapy in improving patient-centered outcomes following third molar surgery. This systematic review assessed and searched PubMed, Google scholar, Scopus, web of science, clinicaltrials.gov and Cochrane central for controlled trials, up to May 2021. The primary outcome measures were patient-centered outcomes such as quality of life following the use of adjunctive corticosteroid therapy in third molar removal. Only randomized controlled trials published in English language were included.A total of 355…
Catalan fiction in the 15th century
2018
Catalan fiction in the 15th century is framed within the context of the expansion of the Crown of Aragon around the Mediterranean, the emergence of Valencia as the cultural capital of the Crown, the crisis in the prevailing mediaeval values, the consolidation of a monetary economy, and fertile contacts between Catalan culture and Castile, France, Burgundy and especially Italy. This is perfectly illustrated by the five most important fictional pieces from that era: Història de Jacob Xalabín, which refers to the Ottoman Empire; Curial e Güelfa, which is set in Italy, France, the German Empire, the eastern Mediterranean and North Africa; Tirant lo Blanc, by Joanot Martorell, which focuses on E…
Äskettäin diagnosoitujen Parkinsonin tautia sairastavien potilaiden kävely ja tasapaino : itsekoetun ja mitatun pystyasennon hallinnan ja kävelyn suo…
2013
Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää äskettäin diagnosoidun Parkinson-potilaan itsearvioimaa pystyasennon hallintaa ja kävelyä suhteessa valittuihin kliinisten mittausten muuttujiin. Tutkimuksessa käytetyt mittarit olivat Bergin tasapainotesti (BBS), Timed Up and Go-testi (TUG), Four Square Stepping Test (FSST), GoodBalance ja GaitRite.

PACKET SCHEDULING AND PRICING BASED ON INFLICTED DELAY
2006
An adaptive packet scheduling method is presented in this paper. The adaptive weights of a scheduler are chosen based on maximizing the revenue of the network service provider. The pricing scenario is based on the delay that a connection will inflict to other connections. The features of the adaptive weight updating algorithm are simulated, analyzed and compared to a constant weight algorithm. peerReviewed

Dynaamisen tasapainotestin toistettavuus ja validointi
2017
Eija Hartikainen. 2017. Dynaamisen tasapainotestin toistettavuus ja validointi. Liikuntabiologian tieteenalaryhmä, Jyväskylän yliopisto, Biomekaniikan Pro gradututkielma, 114s. Tasapaino on kokonaisuus, mitä ohjataan useiden eri säätelyjärjestelmien avulla.
2020
This article gathers some reflections and suggestions that have been carried out throughout the workshop “Arquitectura construida y espacio habitado en los poblados de colonizatión de Italia y España” held in Palermo between the 21st and 22nd January 2020. The case studies that are here analysed and compared are Latina (ancient Littoria), in the Lazio region, Italy, and Valdelacalzada, in the Extremadura region, Spain. The two cities have in common the fundamental cross-shape relationship that characterises their primary urban foundation. Furthermore, both have been conceived and built under totalitarian regimes: Franco’s in Spain and Mussolini’s in Italy. Also, the reasons for their founda…
CONSORT compliance in randomized surgical trials assessing the analgesic and anti-inflammatory effectiveness of preoperative drug management of patie…
2022
Investigate methodological quality of clinical trials in mandibular third molar surgery and its compliance with the consort statement. An electronic search was performed in five journal websites, chose the five scientific journals with the greatest impact factor in oral and maxillofacial surgery according to the SCImago Journal Rank. The compliance of studies with the CONSORT statement was assessed. Also, the risk of bias of each study was evaluated. Twenty-nine studies were included. The average CONSORT compliance score was 25.50 (79.68%). Most studies were performed in the Americas (n = 14, 48.3%) and Asia (n = 10, 34.5%). Parallel-group (n=15, 51.7%) and split-mouth RCTs (n=11, 38%) were…
The Effects of Transcutaneous Spinal Direct Current Stimulation on Neuropathic Pain in Multiple Sclerosis: Clinical and Neurophysiological Assessment
2019
Background: Central neuropathic pain represents one of the most common symptoms in multiple sclerosis (MS) and it seriously affects quality of life. Spinal mechanisms may contribute to the pathogenesis of neuropathic pain in MS. Converging evidence from animal models and neurophysiological and clinical studies in humans suggests a potential effect of transcranial direct current stimulation (tc-DCS) on neuropathic pain. Spinal application of DCS, i.e., transcutaneous spinal DCS (ts-DCS), may modulate nociception through inhibition of spinal reflexes. Therefore, ts-DCS could represents an effective, safe and well-tolerated treatment for neuropathic pain in MS, a largely unexplored topic. This…
