Search for R-parity violating supersymmetry via the LLE¯ couplings λ121, λ122 or λ133 in pp¯ collisions at s=1.96 TeV
2006
A search for gaugino pair production with a trilepton signature in the framework of R-parity violating supersymmetry via the couplings lambda_121, lambda_122, or lambda_133 is presented. The data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of L~360/pb, were collected from April 2002 to August 2004 with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV. This analysis considers final states with three charged leptons with the flavor combinations eel, mumul, and eetau (l=e or mu). No evidence for supersymmetry is found and limits at the 95% confidence level are set on the gaugino pair production cross section and lower bounds on the masses of the …
Precision predictions for the tt¯ production cross section at hadron colliders
2011
Abstract We make use of recent results in effective theory and higher-order perturbative calculations to improve the theoretical predictions of the top-quark pair production cross section at hadron colliders. In particular, we supplement the fixed-order NLO calculation with higher-order corrections from soft gluon resummation at NNLL accuracy. Uncertainties due to power corrections to the soft limit are estimated by combining results from single-particle inclusive and pair invariant-mass kinematics. We present our predictions as functions of the top-quark mass in both the pole scheme and the M S ¯ scheme. We also discuss the merits of using threshold masses as an alternative, and calculate …

Measurement of theZZproduction cross section and search for the standard model Higgs boson in the four lepton final state inpp¯collisions
2013
We present a measurement of Z boson pair production in p (p) over bar collisions at 1.96 TeV with 9.6 to 9.8 fb(-1) of D0 data. We examine the final states eeee, ee mu mu, and mu mu mu mu. Based on selected data, the measured cross section in the mass region M(Z/gamma*) > 30 GeV is sigma(p (p) over bar -> Z/gamma*Z/gamma*) = 1.26(-0.36)(+0.44)(stat)(-0.15)(+0.17) X (syst) +/- 0.08 (lumi) pb; after correcting for the expected ratio of sigma (p (p) over bar -> Z/gamma*Z/gamma*) to sigma(p (p) over bar -> ZZ), we derive a cross section for p (p) over bar -> ZZ production of 1.05(-0.30)(+0.37)(stat)(-0.12)(0.14)(syst) +/- 0.06 (lumi) pb. This result is combined with a previous result from the Z…
Measurement of the W mass in e+e− collisions at 183 GeV
1999
Abstract The mass of the W boson is obtained from reconstructed invariant mass distributions in W-pair events. The sample of W pairs is selected from 57 pb−1 collected with the ALEPH detector in 1997 at a centre-of-mass energy of 183 GeV. The invariant mass distributions of reweighted Monte Carlo events are fitted separately to the experimental distributions in the q q q q and all lν q q channels to give the following W masses: m W hadronic =80.461±0.177 (stat.) ±0.045 (syst.) ±0.056 (theory) GeV /c 2 , m W semileptonic =80.326±0.184 (stat.) ±0.040 (syst.) GeV /c 2 , where the theory error represents the possible effects of final state interactions. The combination of these two measurements…
Search forBmeson decays toη′η′K
2006
We describe searches for decays of B mesons to the charmless final states eta' eta' K. The data consist of 228 million B Bbar pairs produced in e+ e- annihilation, collected with the BaBar detector at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The 90% confidence level upper limits for the branching fractions are Br(B0->eta' eta' K0) eta' eta' K+)<25 10^{-6}.
Precision measurement of the mass of the tau lepton
2014
An energy scan near the $\tau$ pair production threshold has been performed using the BESIII detector. About $24$ pb$^{-1}$ of data, distributed over four scan points, was collected. This analysis is based on $\tau$ pair decays to $ee$, $e\mu$, $eh$, $\mu\mu$, $\mu h$, $hh$, $e\rho$, $\mu\rho$ and $\pi\rho$ final states, where $h$ denotes a charged $\pi$ or $K$. The mass of the $\tau$ lepton is measured from a maximum likelihood fit to the $\tau$ pair production cross section data to be $m_{\tau} = (1776.91\pm0.12 ^{+0.10}_{-0.13}$) MeV/$c^2$, which is currently the most precise value in a single measurement.
Observation ofB+→b1+K0and search forB-meson decays tob10K0andb1π0
2008
We present the results of searches for decays of B mesons to final states with a b{sub 1} meson and a neutral pion or kaon. The data, collected with the BABAR detector at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, represent 465x10{sup 6} BB pairs produced in e{sup +}e{sup -} annihilation. The results for the branching fractions are, in units of 10{sup -6}, B(B{sup +}{yields}b{sub 1}{sup +}K{sup 0})=9.6{+-}1.7{+-}0.9, B(B{sup 0}{yields}b{sub 1}{sup 0}K{sup 0})=5.1{+-}1.8{+-}0.5 (<7.8), B(B{sup +}{yields}b{sub 1}{sup +}{pi}{sup 0})=1.8{+-}0.9{+-}0.2 (<3.3), and B(B{sup 0}{yields}b{sub 1}{sup 0}{pi}{sup 0})=0.4{+-}0.8{+-}0.2 (<1.9), with the assumption that B(b{sub 1}{yields}{omega}{pi})=1. We al…
Branching fraction andCP-violation charge asymmetry measurements forB-meson decays toηK±,ηπ±,η′K,η′π±,ωK, andωπ±
2007
The authors present measurements of the branching fractions for B{sup 0} meson decays to {eta}{prime}K{sup 0} and {omega}K{sup 0}, and of the branching fractions and CP-violation charge asymmetries for B{sup +} meson decays to {eta}{pi}{sup +}, {eta}K{sup +}, {eta}{prime}{pi}{sup +}, {eta}{prime}K{sup +}, {omega}{pi}{sup +}, and {omega}K{sup +}. The data, collected with the BABAR detector at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, represent 383 million B{bar B} pairs produced in e{sup +}e{sup -} annihilation. The measurements agree with previous results; they find no evidence for direct CP violation.
Searches for Supersymmetry in the photon(s) plus missing energy channels at $\sqrt{s}$ = 161 GeV and 172 GeV
1997
Searches for supersymmetric particles in channels with one or more photons and missing energy have been performed with data collected by the ALEPH detector at LEP. The data consist of 11.1 pb-1 at $\sqrt{s} = 161 GeV$, 1.1 pb-1 at 170 GeV and 9.5 pb-1 at 172 GeV. The e+e- -> nunu+photon cross section is measured. The data are in good agreement with predictions based on the Standard Model, and are used to set upper limits on the cross sections for anomalous photon production. These limits are compared to two different SUSY models and used to set limits on the neutralino mass. A limit of 71 GeV/c^2 at 95% C.L. is set on the mass of the lightest neutralino ($\tau_{\chi_{1}^{0}} \leq $ 3 ns) fo…
