Study of the decayDs+→K+K−e+νe

2008

Using 214fb-1 of data recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEPII electron-positron collider, we study the decay Ds+→K+K-e+νe. Except for a small S-wave contribution, the events with K+K- masses in the range 1.01-1.03GeV/c2 correspond to mesons. For Ds+→ e+νe decays, we measure the relative normalization of the Lorentz invariant form factors at q2=0, rV=V(0)/A1(0)=1.849±0.060±0.095, r2=A2(0)/A1(0)=0.763±0. 071±0.065 and the pole mass of the axial-vector form factors mA=(2.28-0.18+0.23±0.18)GeV/c2. Within the same K+K- mass range, we also measure the relative branching fraction B(Ds+→K+K-e+νe)/B(Ds+→K+K- π+)=0.558±0.007±0.016, from which we obtain the total branching fraction B(Ds+→ e+νe)=(2…

τ EDM at low energies

2002

Low energy tau pair production, at B factories and on top of the $\Upsilon$ resonances, allows for a detailed investigation on the CP violation at the electromagnetic tau pair production vertex. High statistic available at low energies offers the opportunity for an independent analysis of CP-violation in the $\tau$ lepton physics. We show that stringent and independent bounds on the $\tau$ electric dipole moment, competitive with the high energy measurements, can be established in low energies experiments.

Sneutrino-induced like sign dilepton signal with conservedRparity

2001

Lepton number violation could be manifest in the sneutrino sector of supersymmetric extensions of the standard model with conserved R-parity. Then sneutrinos decay partly into the ``wrong sign charged lepton'' final state, if kinematically accessible. In sneutrino pair production or associated single sneutrino production, the signal then is a like sign dilepton final state. Under favourable circumstances, such a signal could be visible at the LHC or a next generation linear collider for a relative sneutrino mass-splitting of order ${\cal O}(0.001)$ and sneutrino width of order ${\cal O}$(1 GeV). On the other hand, the like sign dilepton event rate at the TEVATRON is probably too small to be…

CP violation and electric-dipole-moment at low energy tau-pair production

2004

CP violation at low energy is investigated at the tau electromagnetic vertex. High statistics at B factories, and on top of the Upsilon resonances, allows a detailed investigation of CP-odd observables related to the tau-pair production. The contribution of the tau electric dipole moment is considered in detail. We perform an analysis independent from the high energy data by means of correlation and linear spin observables at low energy. We show that different CP-odd asymmetries, associated to the normal-transverse and normal-longitudinal correlation terms can be measured at low energy accelerators, both at resonant and non resonant energies. These observables allow to put stringent and ind…

Doubly charged Higgs at LHC

1996

We have investigated production of doubly charged Higgs particles $\Delta_{L,R}^{++}$ via WW fusion process in proton-proton collisions at LHC energies in the framework of the left-right symmetric model. The production cross section of the right-triplet Higgs is for representative values of model parameters at femtobarn level. The discovery reach depends on the mass of the right-handed gauge boson W_R. At best $\Delta_R^{++}$ mass up to 2.4 TeV are achievable within one year run. For $\Delta^{++}_L$ the corresponding limit is 1.75 TeV which depends on the value of the left-triplet vev v_L. Comparison with Drell-Yan pair production processes shows that studies of the WW fusion processes exte…

Measurement of the top pair production cross section in 8 TeV proton-proton collisions using kinematic information in thelepton+jetsfinal state with …

2015

A measurement is presented of the (tt) over bar inclusive production cross section in pp collisions at a center-ofmass energy of pffisffiffi root s = 8 TeV using data collected by the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The measurement was performed in the lepton + jets final state using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.3 fb(-1). The cross section was obtained using a likelihood discriminant fit and b-jet identification was used to improve the signal-to-background ratio. The inclusive (tt) over bar production cross section was measured to be 260 +/- 1(stat)(-23)(+22)(stat) +/- 8(lumi) +/- 4(beam) pb assuming a top-quark mass of 172.5 GeV, in good agre…

Search for direct slepton and gaugino production in final states with two leptons and missing transverse momentum with the ATLAS detector in pp colli…

2013

A search for the electroweak pair production of charged sleptons and weak gauginos decaying into final states with two leptons is performed using 4.7 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data at root s = 7 TeV recorded with the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. No significant excesses are observed with respect to the prediction from Standard Model processes. In the scenario of direct slepton production, if the sleptons decay directly into the lightest neutralino, left-handed slepton masses between 85 and 195 GeV are excluded at 95% confidence level for a 20 GeV neutralino. Chargino masses between 110 and 340 GeV are excluded in the scenario of direct production of wino-like chargi…

Higgs pair signal enhanced in the 2HDM with two degenerate 125 GeV Higgs bosons

2015

We discuss a scenario of the type-II 2HDM in which the $b\bar{b}\gamma\gamma$ rate of the Higgs pair production is enhanced due to the two nearly degenerate 125 GeV Higgs bosons ($h$, $H$). Considering various theoretical and experimental constraints, we figure out the allowed ranges of the trilinear couplings of these two Higgs bosons and calculate the signal rate of $b\bar{b}\gamma\gamma$ from the productions of Higgs pairs ($hh$, $hH$, $HH$) at the LHC. We find that in the allowed parameter space some trilinear Higgs couplings can be larger than the SM value by an order and the production rate of $b\bar{b}\gamma\gamma$ can be greatly enhanced. We also consider a "decoupling" benchmark po…

2010

A measurement of the tt production cross section in pp collisions at {radical}(s)=1.96 TeV using events with two leptons, missing transverse energy, and jets is reported. The data were collected with the CDF II detector. The result in a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity 2.8 fb{sup -1} is {sigma}{sub tt}=6.27{+-}0.73(stat){+-}0.63(syst){+-}0.39(lum) pb. for an assumed top mass of 175 GeV/c{sup 2}.
