A COVID-19 news coverage mood map of Europe

We present a COVID-19 news dashboard which visualizes sentiment in pandemic news coverage in different languages across Europe. The dashboard shows analyses for positive/neutral/negative sentiment and moral sentiment for news articles across countries and languages. First we extract news articles from news-crawl. Then we use a pre-trained multilingual BERT model for sentiment analysis of news article headlines and a dictionary and word vectors -based method for moral sentiment analysis of news articles. Tässä pro gradu -työssä tarkastellaan ehdokkaiden ja kansalaisten välistä vuorovaikutusta sosiaalisessa mediassa eduskuntavaalien 2015 kampanjoinnin aikana. Päätavoitteena on kuvata ja ymmärtää sitä, millaisia vuorovaikutuksen funktioita sekä topiikkeja ehdokkaiden ja kansalaisten välisessä keskustelussa Twitterissä ja Facebookissa esiintyy vaalikampanjoinnin aikana. Frequency and Density-Dependent Selection on Life-History Strategies - A Field Experiment

Negative frequency-dependence, which favors rare genotypes, promotes the maintenance of genetic variability and is of interest as a potential explanation for genetic differentiation. Density-dependent selection may also promote cyclic changes in frequencies of genotypes. Here we show evidence for both density-dependent and negative frequency-dependent selection on opposite life-history tactics (low or high reproductive effort, RE) in the bank vole (Myodes glareolus). Densitydependent selection was evident among the females with low RE, which were especially favored in low densities.
