Opacity of young businesses: Evidence from rating disagreements

Abstract A conventional wisdom in the contemporary corporate finance literature argues that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are informationally opaque. We use data from two credit information companies and in particular their disagreements over the creditworthiness of SMEs to study the empirical relevance of this often invoked assumption. Our panel data analysis shows that once unobserved firm-effects are controlled for, the disagreements (i.e., rating splits) are inversely related to the age of firms. This paper examines the relationship between the requirement of water resources for irrigation and climate variability and analyses the ranking of the best and worst performance of irrigation water intensity for each Italian region. To measure water resources demanded by agriculture, the irrigation water intensity (IWI) indicator has been computed as the ratio between volumes of irrigation water and total crop harvested. By applying panel data methodologies to a regional dataset spanning from 2000 to 2009, we may address heterogeneity and omitted variable issues. Sistēmas administrācijas panelis paredzēts restorāna darbinieku un īpašnieku iekšējai lietošanai, lai ērti varētu rediģēt mājas lapā publicēto informāciju, kā arī uzglabāt vēl nepublicētus datus, pievienotu vai rediģētu sistēmas lietotājus, piešķirot vai atņemot tiem piekļuves tiesības dažādām lapas sadaļām. Sistēma izstrādāta uz Python/Django ietvara bāzes, izmantojot MySQL datu bāzu pārvaldības rīku.

Tas veidots tā, lai darbinieks bez agrākas programmēšanas pieredzes spētu ērti un pilnvērtīgi pārvaldīt interneta veikalu. Sistēma izstrādāta kā tīmekļa vietne, izmantojot PHP programmēšanas valodu. Dati glabājas MySQL datubāzē.

This study explores personal (self-esteem, perceived stress, and depressive mood) and situational (undesirable life events) variables as determinants of relationship-specific perceptions of social support. Structural equation analyses from two-wave panel data (N = 583) of adult participants from a community-based urban sample revealed that, after controlling for initial levels of perceived social support, psychological characteristics (high levels of stress and depression, and low levels of self-esteem) and situational determinants (number of undesirable life events) were both negatively related to perceived social support from specific significant relationships over time. Abstract In this paper, the effect of salt-fog exposition on the mechanical behavior of sandwich panels having cork agglomerate core was investigated. In particular, the aim of this research work is to assess the shield function of unidirectional basalt and E-glass reinforced polymer on the aging and failure mechanism of the core when such class of material are destined to operate in hostile environments (e.g., marine environment).
