Research Regarding the Use of Wheat Biodiversity for Obtaining some Cereal-Based Fermented Mashes
2012
International audience; Cereal-based fermented beverages are an opportunity to include probiotics and fiber in human nutrition. Nowadays, increasing the interest for rediscovering the benefits, on scientific basis, of traditional fermented beverages based on cereals. Fermented mashes based on different cereal grist, namely Braga in Romanian, is a healthy and nutritious beverage, a source for new functional products with beneficial effects on human health. Physical-chemical and sensorial characteristics of these beverages depend on the ingredients and method of preparation. In this article was analyzed the influence of the five varieties of wheat on the main physical-chemical and sensorial c…

Midinfrared FT-IR as a Tool for Monitoring Herbaceous Biomass Composition and Its Conversion to Furfural
2015
A semiquantitative analysis by means of midinfrared FT-IR spectroscopy was tuned for the simultaneous determination of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin in industrial crops such as giant reed (Arundo donaxL.) and switchgrass (Panicum virgatumL.). Ternary mixtures of pure cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin were prepared and a direct correlation area/concentration was achieved for cellulose and lignin, whereas indirect correlations were found for hemicellulose quantification. Good correspondences between the values derived from our model and those reported in the literature or obtained according to the official Van Soest method were ascertained. Average contents of 40–45% of cellulose, 2…
Effectiveness the source of nitrogen from NO3 and NH4 for Panicum maximum Jacq. growth in saline soil
2019
Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the source of nitrogen used by Panicum maximum Jacq. plants in salt soil. Experimenting pots in a greenhouse with a medium of saline soil. The 2 × 3 factorial design is used in repeated trials. The first factor is calcium sulfate (0 and 2 t ha−1), the second factor is N fertilizer includes (a) without nitrogen = N0, (b) 60 kg N of potassium nitrate (KNO3) and (c) 60 kg N of ammonium sulfate (NH4SO4). The parameters observed were nitrogen uptake, constant growth rate (CGR), biomass yield, crude protein content, NDF, and ADF. The interaction of calcium sulfate and nitrate fertilizer increases CGR, biomass yield, N, CP and NDF uptake. Interac…

Hearing results after hypotympanotomy for glomus tympanicum tumors.
2011
We postulate, that glomus tympanicum tumors (GTTs) may be safely removed without interference with the ossicular chain via a hypotympanotomy approach.Prospective, nonrandomized anatomic and clinical study.Tertiary referral center. All 17 patients between 1989 and 2009 with GTTs without involvement of the lumen of the jugular bulb.We used a modified hypotympanotomy approach. Our technique is a modification of the one first published by Shambaugh (1955). Pure-tone audiograms were performed in all patients. Preoperative and postoperative audiograms were modeled in a linear mixed model evaluating hearing threshold for air and bone conduction and air-bone gap at 500, 1,000, 2,000, and 3,000 Hz. I…
