Prymat Papieża

2015

2013

This working group made a survey and drew maps of herbicide resistances in cereal crops according to modes of action and weed species. These resistances concern mainly grass weeds but also one dicot weeds.

Evidence that depletion of internal calcium stores sensitive to noradrenaline elicits a contractile response dependent on extracellular calcium in ra…

1993

1. Noradrenaline 1 microM induced a contractile response in rat isolated aorta in the presence or in the absence of extracellular Ca2+ with depletion of intracellular Ca2+ stores. Thereafter, during incubation in the presence of Ca2+, an increase in the resting tone was observed. Such a contractile response did not occur after exposure to caffeine or 5-hydroxytryptamine. 2. This increase in tension was inhibited in a concentration-dependent manner by alpha-adrenoceptor antagonists (prazosin, phentolamine and yohimbine), the non-specific relaxing compound, papaverine and by the Ca(2+)-entry blocker, nifedipine. Therefore, this contractile process is related to depletion of Ca2+ stores sensit…

Microscopic interactions between ivermectin and key human and viral proteins involved in SARS-CoV-2 infection

2021

The identification of chemical compounds able to bind specific sites of the human/viral proteins involved in the SARS-CoV-2 infection cycle is a prerequisite to design effective antiviral drugs. Here we conduct a molecular dynamics study with the aim to assess the interactions of ivermectin, an antiparasitic drug with broad-spectrum antiviral activity, with the human Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme 2 (ACE2), the viral 3CLpro and PLpro proteases, and the viral SARS Unique Domain (SUD). The drug/target interactions have been characterized in silico by describing the nature of the non-covalent interactions found and by measuring the extent of their time duration along the MD simulation. Effect of intraarterial papaverine or nimodipine on vessel diameter in patients with cerebral vasospasm after subarachnoid hemorrhage.

2012

Papaverine (P) and nimodipine (N) are the most widely used vasodilators when angiographic and symptomatic vasospasm is present after subarachnoid aneurysmatic hemorrhage (SAH). Their effect is only short-lived and no direct comparisons have been undertaken to evaluate the action of both substances directly. We retrospectively assessed the effect of either P or N on angiographic diameter reduction and capillary blood flow.Fifteen SAH patients with secured aneurysms and cerebral vasospasm received intraarterial P, fifteen similar patients received N. As the primary endpoint, pre- and post-infusion arterial diameters and capillary blood flow were rated retrospectively on angiographies and comp…

Disassembling Papaver: a restriction site analysis of chloroplast DNA

1992

The results from a chloroplast DNA restriction site analysis of the genera Papaver and Roemeria of subf. Papaveroideae (Papaveraceae) and five outgroup taxa are presented. Papaver is represented by 14 species of eight of the 11 sections recognized, Roemeria by two of its three species. Hunnemannia fumariifolia (subf. Eschscholzioideae), Chelidonium majus (subf. Chelidonioideae), Romneya coulteri, Argemone munita and Stylomecon heterophyllum (all subf. Papaveroideae) were chosen as outgroups. DNAs were digested with 24 restriction enzymes. The major results from this analysis are: 1. Papaver, Roemeria and Stylomecon form a monophyletic group supported by at least 17 restriction site mutation…

I criminalisti dello Stato della Chiesa. Famiglie, carriere e biblioteche (XVII secolo)

2023
