Volume and heat capacity studies to evidence interactions between cyclodextrins and nicotinic acid in water

Density and heat capacity of the water+cyclodextrin (CD), water+nicotinic acid (NA) and water+CD+NA mixtures were determined at 298.15 K. CDs with different cavity size and alkylation were selected. From the experimental data the apparent molar properties were calculated. Assuming the formation of inclusion complexes of 1:1 stoichiometry, these properties were modeled and provided the stability constants of CD/NA inclusion complexes and the corresponding property change. The binding of NA with the smallest sized alpha-cyclodextrin (alpha-CD) generates more stable complexes accompanied by the lower volume and the heat capacity changes. In the present work, vesicles made with soy lecithin and a commercial mixture of alkyl polyglucosides were prepared and characterized. Vesicles with a constant amount of soy lecithin and an increasing amount of a decylpolyglucoside surfactant, (OrNS10), were formulated and their physicochemical properties were studied with the aim to design a drug delivery system suitable for different applications. Dauerinfusionen mit Glycerin an Ratten fuhren bei Dosierungen oberhalb der durchschnittlichen maximalen Umsatzkapazitat (0,74 g.kg−1.h−1) zu Veranderungen an den Nieren in Form einer Gewichtszunahme bei gleichzeitiger Proteinverarmung und eines Aktivitatsverlustes an Glycerokinase bei deren gleichzeitigem Auftreten im Harn. Bei Dosierungen von 0,6 g.kg−1.h−1 und mehr kommt es zu einem ATP-Abfall in den Nieren.
