Abstract This article describes nurse–patient communication during counseling sessions. It focuses on the patient as a participant in a discussion and aims at a description of patients’ communicator styles, which were observed on videotape based on 38 counseling sessions transcribed word by word. Interviews of the participating nurses and patients were used for partial support of the interpretations. The analytic method chosen was typology, and it has been used for achieving a multifaceted qualitative description of patient communication. Reworking of the Tarim Craton by underplating of mantle plume-derived magmas: Evidence from Neoproterozoic granitoids in the Kuluketage area, NW China

Abstract Most Neoproterozoic granitoids in the Kuluketage area, northern Tarim Craton are characterized by strongly depleted HREE abundances and high Sr/Y and (La/Yb) N ratios, showing typical geochemical features of adakitic rocks. Zircon U–Pb dating of three adakitic plutons yielded Neoproterozoic ages (754 ± 4, 790 ± 3 and 798 ± 3 Ma). The adakitic granitoids exhibit low MgO and TiO 2 contents. Their low Cr, Co and Ni abundances, low ɛ Hf ( t ) values (−21 to −11) and high FeO T /MgO ratios (mostly 2.2–2.9) preclude the possibility of being derived from partial melts of delaminated lower crust. Quasihyperbolic boundary conditions and capacity: Uniform continuity of quasiconformal mappings

We prove that quasiconformal maps onto domains which satisfy a suitable growth condition on the quasihyperbolic metric are uniformly continuous when the source domain is equipped with the internal metric. The obtained modulus of continuity and the growth assumption on the quasihyperbolic metric are shown to be essentially sharp. As a tool, we prove a new capacity estimate.

Abstract We announce existence results for the 1-harmonic flow from a domain of R m into the first hyper-octant of the N -dimensional unit sphere, under homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions. The arguments rely on a notion of “geodesic representative” of a BV-vector field on its jump set.

The paper deals with the generalization of Fourier-type relations in the context of fractional-order calculus. The instantaneous temperature-flux equation of the Fourier-type diffusion is generalized, introducing a self-similar, fractal-type mass clustering at the micro scale. In this setting, the resulting conduction equation at the macro scale yields a Caputo's fractional derivative with order [0,1] of temperature gradient that generalizes the Fourier conduction equation. Approximate analytic and numerical solutions to Lane-Emden equation via fuzzy modeling method

Thismethod can supply approximate analytic and numerical solutions to Lane-Emden equations. And it is easy to be implemented and extended for solving other nonlinear differential equations. Numerical examples are included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the developed technique.
