The horse is a herbivorous animal that is used for various purposes, one of them is the production of meat intended for human consumption. Worldwide, horse meat production is led by Asia, leaving Europe in third place. Spain is not a country with a great tradition of consumption of this meat, even so, 18,275 farms are dedicated to it, sacrificing 52,908 horses per year. Specifically, 6,368 horses are slaughtered approximately in a year in the Valencian Community. An improved MSD-based method for PD defects classification

The new proposed method of pattern recognition is based on the application of Multi-resolution Signal Decomposition (MSD) technique of wavelet transform. This technique has showed off interesting properties in capturing the embedded horizontal, vertical and diagonal variations within an image obtained from the PD pattern in a separable form. Generation of Earth's early continents from a relatively cool Archean mantle

This research has been supported by DFG grant, SPP 1833 Building a Habitable Earth and MAGMA Consolidator Grant (ERC project #71143). Several lines of evidence suggest that the Archean (4.0 2.5 Ga) mantle was hotter than today's potential temperature (TP) of  1350 ° C. However, the magnitude of such difference is poorly constrained, with TP estimation spanning from 1500 ° C to 1600 ° C during the Meso‐Archean (3.2‐2.8 Ga). Such differences have major implications for the interpreted mechanisms of continental crust generation on the early Earth, as their efficacy is highly sensitive to the TP. Fault bound blocks of granulite and enderbite occur within upper amphibolite-facies migmatitic tonalitic-trondhjemitic-granodioritic (TTG) gneisses of the Iisalmi block of Central Finland. These units record reworking and partial melting of different levels of the Archean crust during a major tectonothermal event at 2·6-2·7 Ga. Anhydrous mineral assemblages and tonalitic melts in the granulites formed as a result of hydrous phase breakdown melting reactions involving amphibole at peak metamorphic conditions of 8-11 kbar and 750-900°C. The interrelation between stochastic differential inclusions and set-valued stochastic differential equations

Abstract In this paper we connect the well established theory of stochastic differential inclusions with a new theory of set-valued stochastic differential equations. Solutions to the latter equations are understood as continuous mappings taking on their values in the hyperspace of nonempty, bounded, convex and closed subsets of the space L 2 consisting of square integrable random vectors. Ambit processes are general stochastic processes based on stochastic integrals with respect to Levy bases. Due to their flexible structure, they have great potential for providing realistic models for various applications such as in turbulence and finance. This papers studies the connection between ambit processes and solutions to stochastic partial differential equations. We investigate this relationship from two angles: from the Walsh theory of martingale measures and from the viewpoint of the Levy noise analysis.

An optimal control problem governed by an elliptic equation written in variational form in an abstract functional framework is considered. The control is subject to restrictions. The optimality conditions are established and the Ritz-Galerkin discretization is introduced. A linearization technique and error estimates for distributed parameter identification in quasilinear problems

The identification problem of a nonlinear functional coefficient in elliptic and parabolic quasilinear equations is considered. A distributed observation of the solution of the corresponding equation is assumed to be known a priori. An identification method is introduced, which needs only a linear equation to be solved in each iteration step of the optimization. Estimates of the rate of convergence for the proposed approach are proved, when the equation is discretized with the finite element method with respect to space variables. Some numerical results are given.
