Elliptic flow of identified hadrons in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV
2015
The elliptic flow coefficient (v2) of identified particles in Pb-Pb collisions at √ sNN = 2.76 TeV was measured with the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The results were obtained with the Scalar Product method, a two-particle correlation technique, using a pseudo-rapidity gap of |∆η| > 0.9 between the identified hadron under study and the reference particles. The v2 is reported for π ±, K±, K0 S , p+p, φ, Λ+Λ, Ξ −+Ξ + and Ω−+Ω + in several collision centralities. In the low transverse momentum (pT) region, pT 3 GeV/c. peerReviewed

Measurement of J/ψ at forward and backward rapidity in p+p, p+Al, p+Au, and 3He+Au collisions at √sNN=200 GeV

Charmonium is a valuable probe in heavy-ion collisions to study the properties of the quark gluon plasma, and is also an interesting probe in small collision systems to study cold nuclear matter effects, which are also present in large collision systems. With the recent observations of collective behavior of produced particles in small system collisions, measurements of the modification of charmonium in small systems have become increasingly relevant. We present the results of J/Psi measurements at forward and backward rapidity in various small collision systems, p + p, p + Al, p + Au, and He-3+Au, at root s(NN) = 200 GeV. The results are presented in the form of the observable RAB, the nuc…
Measurement of two-particle correlations with respect to second- and third-order event planes in Au+Au collisions at √sNN = 200 GeV
2019
We present measurements of azimuthal correlations of charged hadron pairs in √sNN = 200 GeV Au + Au collisions for the trigger and associated particle transverse-momentum ranges of 1 4 GeV/c) correlations is suppressed compared with that of correlations measured in p + p collisions. At the lowest associated particle pT (0.5 < pa T < 1 GeV/c), the away-side shape and yield are modified relative to those in p + p collisions. These observations are consistent with the scenario of radiative-jet energy loss. For the low-pT trigger correlations (2 < pt T < 4 GeV/c), a finite away-side yield exists and we explore the dependence of the shape of the away-side within the context of an underlying-even…

This thesis focuses on two separate topics. The first topic concerns the upgrade of the Time Projection Chamber (TPC) detector of the ALICE experiment. The upgrade will take place during the second Long Shutdown (2019-2020). The part of the upgrade I participated in was the replacement of the detector’s current readout electronics with Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM) foils. This change would allow for the continuous readout of the data, resulting in a hundredfold increase in the amount of data the ALICE experiment can process, as the TPC is the central tracking detector. I was involved in the Quality Assurance (QA) of these GEM foils. The advanced QA procedure consists of three measurements, a…
Event-shape and multiplicity dependence of freeze-out radii in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV
2019
Two-particle correlations in high-energy collision experiments enable the extraction of particle source radii by using the Bose-Einstein enhancement of pion production at low relative momentum q ∝ 1/R. It was previously observed that in pp collisions at s√ = 7TeV the average pair transverse momentum kT range of such analyses is limited due to large background correlations which were attributed to mini-jet phenomena. To investigate this further, an event-shape dependent analysis of Bose-Einstein correlations for pion pairs is performed in this work. By categorizing the events by their transverse sphericity ST into spherical (ST > 0:7) and jet-like (ST < 0:3) events a method was developed tha…
Two-particle transverse momentum correlations in pp and p-Pb collisions at energies available at the CERN Large Hadron Collider
2023
Two-particle transverse momentum differential correlators, recently measured in Pb--Pb collisions at energies available at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC), provide an additional tool to gain insights into particle production mechanisms and infer transport properties, such as the ratio of shear viscosity to entropy density, of the medium created in Pb-Pb collisions. The longitudinal long-range correlations and the large azimuthal anisotropy measured at low transverse momenta in small collision systems, namely pp and p-Pb, at LHC energies resemble manifestations of collective behaviour. This suggests that locally equilibrated matter may be produced in these small collision systems, simil…
