Measurement of the B0→D*−π+π−π+ branching fraction

2016

Using a sample of (470.9 +- 2.8) x 10^6 BB-bar pairs, we measure the decay branching fraction B(B^0 -> D^*- pi^+ pi^- pi^+) = (7.26 +- 0.11 +- 0.31) x 10^-3, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. Our measurement will be helpful in studies of lepton universality by measuring B(B^0 -> D^*- tau^+ nu_tau) using tau^+ -> pi^+ pi^- pi^+ nu-bar_tau decays, normalized to B(B^0 -> D^*- pi^+ pi^- pi^+.

Measurement of theBs0Lifetime in the Flavor-Specific Decay ChannelBs0→Ds−μ+νX

2015

We present an updated measurement of the B-s(0) lifetime using the semileptonic decays B-s(0) -> D-s(-)mu(+)nu X, with D-s(-) -> phi pi(-) and phi -> K+K- (and the charge conjugate process). This measurement uses the full Tevatron Run II sample of proton-antiproton collisions at root s = 1.96 TeV, comprising an integrated luminosity of 10.4 fb(-1). We find a flavor-specific lifetime tau(fs)(B-s(0)) = 1.479 +/- 0.010(stat) +/- 0.021(syst) ps. This technique is also used to determine the B-0 lifetime using the analogous B-0 -> D- mu(+)nu X decay with D- -> phi pi(-) and phi -> K+K-, yielding tau(B-0) = 1.534 +/- 0.019(stat) +/- 0.021(syst) ps. Both measurements are consistent with the current…

Evidence for ChargedBMeson Decays toa1±(1260)π0anda10(1260)π±

2007

We present measurements of the branching fractions for the decays B±→a1±(1260)π0 and B±→a10(1260)π± from a data sample of 232×106 BB pairs produced in e+e- annihilation through the Υ(4S) resonance. We measure the branching fraction B(B±→a1±(1260)π0)×B(a1±(1260) →π-π+π±)=(13.2±2.7±2.1)×10-6 with a significance of 4.2σ, and the branching fraction B(B±→ a10(1260)π±)×B(a10(1260)→π-π+π0)=(20.4±4. 7±3.4)×10-6 with a significance of 3.8σ, where the first error quoted is statistical and the second is systematic. © 2007 The American Physical Society.

Hidden and open $$\bar ss$$ production in $$\bar pp$$ annihilation at restannihilation at rest

1994

New branching ratios for\(\bar pp\) annihilation at rest into final states with a\(K\bar K\) pair or φ-meson are being measured with the Crystal Barrel detector at LEAR. The yield of φγ, relative to ωγ, appears to violate the OZI rule as strongly as φπ relative to ωπ.

NA48/62 latest results

2017

The NA62 experiment at the CERN SPS recorded in 2007 a large sample of K+ ? µ+?µ decays. A peak search in the missing mass spectrum of this decay is performed. In the absence of observed signal, the limits obtained on B(K+ ? µ+?h) and on the mixing matrix element |Uµ 4| are reported. The upgraded NA62 experiment started data taking in 2015. About 5×1011K+ decays have been recorded so far to measure the branching ratio of the K+ ? ?+?? decay. Preliminary results from the K+ ? ?+?? analysis based on about 5% of the 2016 statistics are reported.

Kaon Physics at CERN – Recent Results from the NA48/2 and NA62 Experiments

2012

This letter presents recent results from the kaon experiments NA48/2 and its successor NA62 at CERN. With samples of 2.5 × 106 K µ 3 ± and 4.0 × 106 K e 3 ± events collected by NA48/2 in 2004, precise measurements of the form factors were performed. The Chiral Perturbation Theory was tested through a new study of K ± → π± γγ decays based on data taken with minimal trigger conditions. Using the beam line and detector of NA48/2 in the years 2007-2008, NA62 performed a precison measurement of the helicitysuppressed ratio of the charged kaon leptonic decay rates K ± → e+ ν and K ± → μ + ν Using the full data set, which is about ten times larger than the previous world data sample, the total unc…

HADRONIC CROSS SECTION MEASUREMENT AT BES-III

2014

Measurements of the R ratio are closely related to two pre quantities, the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon (g - 2), and the value of the electromagnetic fine structure constant [Formula: see text]. Hadronic contributions to both quantities can be derived via dispersion integrals, using experimental R data as input. For the phenomenological evaluations of these contributions, different energy ranges of hadronic cross section data are required. At BES-III, Initial State Radiation (ISR) from an existing Ψ(3770) dataset will be used for measurements of hadronic cross sections below [Formula: see text], while for higher energies a dedicated energy scan program will be performed up to [For…

Deuteron photodisintegration with the Bonn OBE potentials

1989

The various OBE approximations to the recent Bonn potential are studied in deuteron photodisintegration below π-threshold. Consistent static meson-exchange currents, isobar currents, and the relativistic spin-orbit current are included. Concerning the OBEPT also the leading retardation corrections in the currents are taken into account. Comparison with experimental data is carried out in detail.
