Hypernuclear physics at $\overline{\mbox{P}}$ ANDA

2012

Hypernuclear research will be one of the main topics addressed by the \(\overline{\mbox{P}}\) anda experiment at the planned Facility for Anti-proton and Ion Research FAIR at Darmstadt, Germany. A copious production of Ξ-hyperons at a dedicated internal target in the stored anti-proton beam is expected, which will enable the high-precision γ-spectroscopy of double strange systems for the first time. In addition to the general purpose \(\overline{\mbox{P}}\) anda setup, the hypernuclear experiments require an active secondary target of silicon layers and absorber material as well as high purity germanium (HPGe) crystals as γ-detectors. The design of the setup and the development of these det…

LatestXYZresults frome+e−colliders

2014

We present the recent progress on the charmonium-like states (or called XYZ states) from electron-positron colliders, including the results from BESIII, CLEO-c, BaBar and Belle. This talk covers the observation of X(3872) from radiative decay of the Y(4260), the updated results of Y states from initial state radiation (ISR) process of π + π − J/ψ and π + π − ψ(2S ) and also cross section measurement of e + e − → π + π − hc and e + e − → ωχc0, and the observation of charged and neutral charmonium-like states (Zcs).

Present Knowledge of the Lepton Mixing Matrix from Neutrino Oscillation Experiments

1986

An analysis of experimental results in the framework of simultaneous oscillations of three neutrino flavours is used, in a combined fit, to constrain the elements of the 3 × 3 unitary lepton mixing matrix and to obtain limits on the three lepton mixing angles αeμ, αe τ and αμτ.

10.2 Discrete Symmetries

2008

1. The asymmetry of the zenith angle distribution of νμ of Super-Kamiokande is the direct evidence of νμ oscillations. 2. The first oscillation minimum was observed in the L/E distribution using the high resolution L/E sample of Super-Kamiokande. It confirms that the distortion of the zenith angle distribution is really due to neutrino oscillations and excludes other hypotheses such as neutrino decay and decoherence model. 3. A search for charged current (CC) interaction of ντ shows a 2.4σ excess of signal and the observed number of events is consistent with the expectation. 4. No indication of νe oscillation is observed so far in atmospheric neutrinos.

Inclusive B ¯ → X s ℓ + ℓ − $$ \overline{B}\to {X}_s{\ell}^{+}{\ell}^{-} $$ : complete angular analysis and a thorough study of collinear photons

2015

We investigate logarithmically enhanced electromagnetic corrections of all angular observables in inclusive $$ \overline{B}\to {X}_s{\ell}^{+}{\ell}^{-} $$ . We present analytical results, which are supplemented by a dedicated Monte Carlo study on the treatment of collinear photons in order to determine the size of the electromagnetic logarithms. We then give the Standard Model predictions of all observables, considering all available NNLO QCD, NLO QED and power corrections, and investigate their sensitivity to New Physics. Since the structure of the double differential decay rate is modified in the presence of QED corrections, we also propose new observables which vanish if only QCD correc…

Interpretation of the Anomalous NaI Events

2001

Anomalous events, with scintillation decay times shorter than nuclear recoils, have been observed by the UKDMC and Saclay NaI experiments. By using the event categories observed in the EDELWEISS experiment, we propose to interpret the anomalous NaI events as surface nuclear recoils accompanied with a small energy loss of an escaping alpha particle. The discrimination performances of the NaI experiments which have not taken into account these events in their analysis, notably for axial WIMP interactions, must then be reevaluated.
