Radiative vector meson decay

2004

We study the radiative $\rho$, $\omega$ and $\phi$ decay into $\pi^0 \pi^0 \gamma$ and $\pi^0 \eta \gamma $ taking into account mechanisms in which there are two sequential vector-vector-pseudoscalar or axial-vector--vector--pseudoscalar steps followed by the coupling of a vector meson to the photon, considering the final state interaction of the two mesons. Other mechanisms in which two kaons are produced through the same sequential mechanisms or from vector meson decay into two kaons which undergo final state interaction leading to the final pair of pions or $\pi^0 \eta$, are also considered. The results of the parameter free theory, together with the theoretical uncertainties, are compar…

Bounds on Neutrino-Scalar Yukawa Coupling

2015

General neutrino-scalar couplings appear in many extensions of Standard Model. We can probe these neutrino-scalar couplings by leptonic decay of mesons and from heavy neutrino search. Our analysis improves the present limits to $|g_e|^2<1.9\times 10^{-6}$ and $|g_\mu|^2<1.9\times 10^{-7}$ at 90\% C.L. for massless scalars. For massive scalars we found for the first time the constraints for $g^2_{\alpha}$ couplings to be $10^{-6}-10^{-1}$ respectively for scalar masses between below 1 MeV and for 300 MeV.

An extension of two-Higgs-doublet model and the excesses of 750 GeV diphoton, muon g-2 and h → μτ

2016

In this paper we simultaneously explain the excesses of the 750 GeV diphoton, muon g-2 and $h\to \mu\tau$ in an extension of the two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM) with additional vector-like fermions and a CP-odd scalar singlet ($P$) which is identified as the 750 GeV resonance. This 750 GeV resonance has a mixing with the CP-odd scalar ($A$) in 2HDM, which leads to a coupling between $P$ and the SM particles as well as a coupling between $A$ and the vector-like fermions. Such a mixing and couplings are strongly constrained by $\tau\to\mu\gamma$, muon g-2 and the 750 GeV diphoton data. We scan over the parameter space and find that such an extension can simultaneously account for the observed …

Vector screening masses in the quark–gluon plasma and their physical significance

2014

Static and non-static thermal screening states that couple to the conserved vector current are investigated in the high-temperature phase of QCD. Their masses and couplings to the current are determined at weak coupling, as well as using two-flavor lattice QCD simulations. A consistent picture emerges from the comparison, providing evidence that non-static Matsubara modes can indeed be treated perturbatively. We elaborate on the physical significance of the screening masses.

Implementing consistent NLO factorization in single inclusive forward hadron production

2017

Single inclusive forward hadron production in high-energy hadron collisions can provide an important test of the Color Glass Condensate picture at small $x$. Recent studies of this process at next-to-leading order have led to problematic results, with cross sections becoming negative at large transverse momenta. We study a new formulation of this quantity proposed recently by Iancu et al. We show that it leads to physical results up to large transverse momenta at fixed coupling. Taking into account running coupling effects in a way that is consistent with existing DIS calculations still poses a challenge.

Search for double-βdecay processes in106Cd with the help of a106CdWO4crystal scintillator

2012

A search for double $\ensuremath{\beta}$ processes in ${}^{106}$Cd was carried out at the Gran Sasso National Laboratories of the INFN (Italy) with the help of a ${}^{106}$CdWO${}_{4}$ crystal scintillator (215 g) enriched in ${}^{106}$Cd up to 66$%$. After 6590 h of data taking, new improved half-life limits on the double $\ensuremath{\beta}$ decay processes in ${}^{106}$Cd were established at the level of ${10}^{19}$--${10}^{21}$ yr; in particular, ${T}_{1/2}^{2\ensuremath{\nu}\ensuremath{\varepsilon}{\ensuremath{\beta}}^{+}}\ensuremath{\geqslant}2.1\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{20}$ yr, ${T}_{1/2}^{2\ensuremath{\nu}2{\ensuremath{\beta}}^{+}}\ensuremath{\geqslant}4.3\ifmmode\tim…

Investigation of the conjectured nucleon deformation at low momentum transfer.

2004

We report new precise H$(e,e^\prime p)\pi^0$ measurements at the $\Delta(1232)$ resonance at $Q^2= 0.127$ (GeV/c)$^2$ using the MIT/Bates out-of-plane scattering (OOPS) facility. The data reported here are particularly sensitive to the transverse electric amplitude ($E2$) of the $\gamma^* N\to\Delta$ transition. Analyzed together with previous data yield precise quadrupole to dipole amplitude ratios $EMR = (-2.3 \pm 0.3_{stat+sys} \pm 0.6_{model})%$ and $CMR = (-6.1 \pm 0.2_{stat+sys}\pm 0.5_{model})%$ and for $M^{3/2}_{1+} = (41.4 \pm 0.3_{stat+sys}\pm 0.4_{model})(10^{-3}/m_{\pi^+})$. They give credence to the conjecture of deformation in hadronic systems favoring, at low $Q^2$, the domin…

Tetra and pentaquarks from the molecular perspective

2019

We present results for the analysis of the B+ → J/ψϕK+ which shows the contribution of two resonances, the X(4140) and X(4160) and a cusp at the $D_s^*\bar D_s^*$ threshold tied to the molecular character of the X(4160) resonance. In the second part we present the results for the theoretical approach to the new Ωcstates from the molecular perspective. In both cases we compare with results of the LHCb collaboration.

A large Streamer Chamber muon tracking detector in a high-flux fixed-target application.

1999

Arrays of limited streamer tubes of the Iarocci type were deployed in our experiment at CERN as part of a forward muon detector system with provisions for the beam to pass through the center of each panel in the array. A total of 16 4 m x 4 m panels were assembled with inductive readout strips on both sides of each panel. An active feedback system. was deployed to regulate the high voltage to the streamer tubes to insure a constant efficiency for minimum ionizing particles. The arrays were operated in this environment for over five years of data taking. Streamer tube track-reconstruction efficiencies and tube replacement rates are reported.
