2018

The aim of this article is to show public diplomacy using the example of the European Union, which by its very nature is perceived as an actor with a natural potential to conduct public diplomacy. In a more detailed perspective, the analysis concerns EU public diplomacy towards the states of the Eastern Partnership, which is both an addressee of its objectives and a catalyst for its difficulties and constraints. The article consists of three parts. In the first part, the definitions’ section of public diplomacy was briefly presented. In the second part, the aims and objectives of public diplomacy in the understanding of the European Union were presented. An important element of this section…

Co-riding With My eBike to Get Green Lights

2019

Researchers are increasingly exploring interactive technology supporting human-system partnership in an exertion context, such as cycling. So far, most investigations have supported the rider cognitively, by the system "sensing and presenting" information to assist the rider to make informed decisions. In contrast, we propose systems that promote user-system co-operation, by "sensing and acting" on information to assist the rider, not only "cognitively" but also "physically", with the aim of facilitating user-system co-operation in an exertion context. Our prototype, "Ari", is a novel augmented eBike designed to facilitate user-system co-operation, where the information that each party can …

EXPLORING THE OBSTACLES OF LATVIAN FOOD COMPANIES EXPORT TO CHINA

2016

As we know, China is the biggest trader in the world. European Commission has revealed that China has become the European Union (EU)`s second largest trading partner behind the United States, and EU is China`s biggest trading partner. This situation just proves the necessity of making good partnership with China, which is especially needed for such a small country as Latvia. The main export fields for Latvia are wood, metal, electrical devices and minerals. As the population of China is growing very fast, leading to more than one billion people in 2016 (increased for more than 41 million in last six years), the food market is in need of more and more products. Of course, Chinese market may …

Partnership for training. Parents, teachers and leaders: the educating community

2021

Family and school are the educational agencies that play a primary role in the child development. Therefore, an educational partnership based on values and responsibilities sharing and on the mutual respect of competences is necessary. This idea is reflected in Bronfenbrenner (1979; 2001), Epstein (2018), Eccles and Harold (2013) theoretical/methodological models and in the Pati (2019) pedagogical-epistemic reflection. Starting from this theoretical framework, it is considered necessary to investigate the point of view of teachers, parents and managers in order to provide a clear vision of the practices of educational co-responsibility in reference to the Italian school context. We predicte…

Doctrinal and Model Conditions of Family Support. International Recognition

2020

The article raises the issues of social activity aimed at supporting families. In particular, reference is made to the classic concepts of political models of the state organized according to the principles of liberalism, socialism and socliberalism as the middle ground between the first two. On the foundation of political assumptions, proposals are built of model family support arranged in three different circumstances of state governance. Three respective models of family support are outlined, which refer to the liberal, socialist and socliberal assumptions. Each of the models is discussed, i.e. the incentive, the caring, and the partnership model. The concept of family support models can…

Making conservation sustainable under unfavourable conditions : the case of Chimanimani National Reserve, Mozambique

2019

Based on a case study from the Chimanimani National Reserve in Mozambique, this article analyses to what extent different types of operational practices can contribute to the sustainability of protected areas in relatively unfavourable external conditions. While current conservation policies highlight community participation and market-based approaches, the same “best practices” are not equally valid under different conditions. Where unfavourable natural conditions, lack of infrastructure, difficult access and political instability limit the potential for upmarket ecotourism, actors should focus on community empowerment, diversification of livelihoods, and building joint conservation ideolo…

Partnerzy bez partnerstwa? Realizacja zasady partnerstwa w procesie wdrażania regionalnych programów operacyjnych w Polsce w perspektywie finansowej …

2021

W niniejszym artykule podjęto próbę określenia stopnia realizacji zasady partnerstwa w procesie wdrażania regionalnych programów operacyjnych (RPO) w Polsce w obecnej perspektywie finansowej (2014–2020). Przyjęto założenie, że instytucjonalnym sposobem realizacji zasady partnerstwa jest powołanie i funkcjonowanie komitetów monitorujących (KM). Analizą porównawczą objęto praktyczne aspekty działania komitetów w ramach RPO w trzech województwach: lubuskim, świętokrzyskim i kujawsko-pomorskim. Do celów porównawczych wykorzystano następujące parametry instytucjonalno-organizacyjne: liczba posiedzeń komitetów w perspektywie finansowej 2014–2020, liczba przeprowadzonych procedur głosowania obiego…

Partnership educativa tra scuola e Organizzazioni No Profit

2021
