Glow-worms in the night. Street prostitutions and prevention projects - Traditionaly, sexual-work conflict and street partnership have been studied separately. This study examined the impact of sexual-work conflict and health. The results show that there are a significant relationship between sexual-work conflict and health especially with inter-role conflict. The scale have been applied to a Sicilian sample of 114 prostitutes in a social project of prevention. Key words: Sexual-work conflict, helath, health belief, partnership.

European Initiatives in Postgraduate Education in Gerontology

This paper describes three innovative European initiatives in postgraduate education in gerontology. The first is the European Masters Program in Gerontology (EuMaG), developed as an interdisciplinary joint program, supported and delivered by 22 European universities. Second, the Nordplus initiative to increase mobility of students and staff in the field of gerontology in the European Nordic countries is elaborated. Third, two postgraduate Gerontology and Geriatrics programs offered by the European Centre of Gerontology and Geriatrics, University of Malta are presented. Ageing populations represent a challenge to the sustainability of current healthcare systems. The need to balance these demographic changes with gains in healthy life years and quality of life (QoL) constitutes an additional challenge. Aware of this, the European Commission (EC) launched the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIPonAHA) in 2012.
