Anti-pluralist arguments in the Tea Party online discourse: A mixed method analysis of populist rhetoric
2022
Niniejsze studium przedstawia wyniki analizy oficjalnej strony internetowej Tea Party (treści z zakładki “All News”) przeprowadzonej metodą mieszaną. Wspomagana komputerowo analiza językowa słów kluczowych, konkordancji i sprzężeń (ang. couplings) na próbie…
Analyse du caractère dynamique des recommandations dans l'industrie cinématographique : le cas des franchises de films
2016
The release of motion picture sequels by studios led to the emergence of interaction effects between sequels over the time and in consequence altering models predicting the box office. If some scholars have examined these interaction effects, they were limited to the box office revenues. The paper proposes an extension of the interaction effects to third-party recommendations. The results – covering 123 sequels – demonstrate the dynamic and persistent nature of the recommendations.

Pricavy-Preserving Aspects for Data Mining in ICT Services
The steady adoption of systems for profiling users behavior, collecting and critically interpreting as much information as possible about likes and dislikes, interests and habits of Internet residents and generic services consumers have rapidly become some of the hottest keywords within networking research community. Indeed, mining information about users behavior is an advantage for both service providers and service customers: on one side, providers can improve their revenues by focusing on the most successful features of their services, while on the other side, users can enjoy services which reflect closer their specific needs. There are many examples of user profiling applications. Inte…
Beyond “liberals” and “conservatives”: Complexity in ideology, moral intuitions, and worldview among Swedish voters
2020
This research investigated the congruence between the ideologies of political parties and the ideological preferences (N = 1515), moral intuitions (N = 1048), and political values and worldviews (N = 1345) of diverse samples of Swedish adults who voted or intended to vote for the parties. Logistic regression analyses yielded support for a series of hypotheses about variations in ideology beyond the left-right division. With respect to social ideology, resistance to change and binding moral intuitions predicted stronger preference for a social democratic (vs. progressive) party on the left and weaker preference for a social liberal (vs. social conservative or liberal-conservative) party on t…

Museum in the rhythm of the city – the new challenges for traditional elite
City museums have been guardians of city treasures. They illuminate the city’s finest hours and the high points of its history. A careful observation of changes happening in ways and styles of life in societies of late modernity shows limitations resulting from the Enlightenment museum discourse. A postmodernist blurring of a borderline between a high and low culture constitutes a starting point for going beyond fixed modes of thinking about museums as just dignified art institutions and temples of knowledge. Thus, museologists make efforts to make new exhibition arrangements adjusted to the present‑day expect…
LA ‘RESISTENZA’ DELLA SINISTRA POPOLARE DINANZI AL FASCISMO: IL DIALOGO CON I SOCIALISTI NELLE PAGINE DEL «DOMANI D’ITALIA» (1922-1924)
2022
On December 24 1922, in the midst of the tensions of the post- war crisis and the reactionary offensive, and just two months after the “March on Rome”, the left-wing of the Italian Popular Party published in Milan the weekly «Il Domani d’Italia» (December 1922-July 1924) taking the title of the Chris- tian Democrat weekly (1901-1903) edited by Romolo Murri. The deep religious, democratic and moral crisis pushed the editors – among others Francesco Luigi Ferrari, Gerolamo and Luigi Meda, Cesare and Luigi Degli Occhi – to a political commitment to the struggle and the related social culture. The condemnation of fascist authoritarianism, the need for an internal clarification of the PPI agains…
