Tuttavia, va rilevato che il suo utilizzo puo far emergere delle criticita: se impiegato per descrivere un qualche “cambiamento” nel processo di testualizzazione, ossia di produzione di un testo, esso pare individuare la presa di distanza rispetto a un’idea o a una forma “originaria”, ovvero pone il problema del rapporto fra testo e contesto e fra autenticita e copia. In Pasolini’s films, the dialogue may be removed from the narrative of the film or even reduced significantly. It is not uncommon to see sequences without dialogue, where meaning effects are attributed exclusively to visual impact. In Oedipus Rex (1967), Pasolini combines a vision closer to painting with the captions prevalent throughout the film. The captions reveal the absence of a voice and mimic the identity of a third person. The inscriptions, such as “Where are you going, my youth? Where, my life?” deceive the continuity of images, and produce the same effect of an intervention of the first person narrator in a written text. The parent–child relationship is omnipresent in the works of Pier Paolo Pasolini. In Oedipus Rex, the filmmaker uses both the original myth and Sophocles’ tragedy to underline the fact that the father–son relationship is rooted in the Ancient World. Moreover, as will be depicted later on, Pasolini uses the work to evoke his personal experiences and artistic style. In this sense, the film is founded on psychoanalytic theories. Oedipus embodies the heart of Freudian thought: metahistorical hatred against the father, patricide and incest on the one hand, nostalgia and longing for the mother’s womb on the other. Through the analysis of some poems of the vast production of Pier Paolo Pasolini I try to summarize some traits of the expressiveness of the poet, circumscribing its contours within the terms of the generational dialectic. A dialectic that assumes the features of an unresolved confrontation that sees the Poet withdrawing, self-exclusion, renouncing integration and beating the path of the outcast, who nourishes the victim's myth and assumes the connotations of the scapegoat to the extreme. 26 marzo 1965: su «Paese Sera-Libri» esce la trascrizione, mai più riedita, di una delle svariate tavole rotonde organizzate dal giornale in quegli anni, intitolata Requiem per il romanzo?: a cui hanno partecipato Alberto Arbasino, Francesco Leonetti, Alberto Moravia, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Edoardo Sanguineti, e, in veste di coordinatore, Armando Vitelli (fondatore e curatore del supplemento, con Piero Dallamano).
