Este texto es parte e la memoria familiar, en la que solo se recoge la parte empresarial, de innovación de la industria cerámica valenciana. Maģistra darba „Latvijā patentēta bērnu virsdrēbju zīmola izveides projekts” mērķis ir veicināt jaunu bērnu apģērbu zīmolu ienākšanu Latvijas tirgū. Maģistra darba ietvaros veikta jēdziena “zīmols” skaidrojums un bērnu apģērbu zīmolu izpēte un analīze Latvijas tirgū. Darba pētījuma ietvaros tiek izvirzīta konkrēta problēma – Latvijā trūkst bērnu virsdrēbju zīmolu. Konkrētas problēmas risināšanai tika piedāvātas trīs alternatīvas, no kurām realizācijai tika izvelēta Latvijā patentēta bērnu virsdrēbju zīmola izveide ar modeļu izstrādi Latvijā un ražošanu ārvalstīs. Empirical analyses of European intellectual property rights institutions

This dissertation consists of introduction chapter and five empirical studies on European intellectual property rights institutions. Chapters 2, 3 and 4 are micro-level studies and the perspective shifts to macro-level in Chapters 5 and 6. Chapters 2, 3, 5 and 6 analyze two-tiered patent systems and Chapter 4 focuses on design rights. Chapter 2 analyzes the choice between patent and utility model protection among German firms. The results indicate that larger firms are more likely to use both protection methods and that a short life cycle of products and services is associated with an increased likelihood to use utility models. Different regulatory models of transfer of industrial property rights in the Baltic States: A plea for harmonized approach

AbstractThe authors explore different models of transfer of industrial property on a comparative basis. The article demonstrates that these models differ on a country level and several models may be in use in one legal system. The authors analyze strengths and weaknesses and legal implications of these models in the three Baltic States both at the regulatory level and at the practical level through case studies. The authors conclude that would be preferable to use the model under which the register is vested with negative publicity and the transfer of ownership of industrial property is not made dependent on its recordation.

Abstract This paper is addressing issues of the competitiveness gap of the European Union member countries in the context of Europe 2020 strategy's smart growth. Authors are examining current competitiveness situation when economic performance of some countries are significantly better than others and how does it fit in the competitiveness framework set by Europe 2020 strategy. To have a closer look at the smart growth of European Union member countries authors examine R&D expenditures and their impact on patents and high-technology share in exports as one of the indicators of the competitiveness.

Climate variability, innovation and firm performance: evidence from the European agricultural sector

Abstract It is generally accepted that adaptation to climate variability requires a technological advancement strategy. However, the innovation process has received little explicit consideration in this framework. We employ a panel endogenous switching regression model to explore whether and to what extent climate variability affects firm performance through the ability to induce the development of adaptation innovations in key resource-based sectors in Europe during the period 2007–2017.
