Getting into the Same Boat – Enabling the Realization of the Disabled Child’s Agency in Adult–Child Play Interaction

The purpose of this study was to find out how an adult can enable or hinder the realization of a disabled child’s agency in play interaction. We focused on the child’s play invitations, which were constructed as dispreferred by the adult. The data consisted of nine videotaped playing situations with five nurses and five disabled children in a children’s neurological ward. The microanalysis with interventionist applied conversation analysis focused on one playing situation between one nurse and one three-year-old boy with no spoken language. Modeling of biomass smoke injection into the lower stratosphere by a large forest fire (Part II): Sensitivity studies

Abstract. The Chisholm forest fire that burned in Alberta, Canada, in May 2001 resulted in injection of substantial amounts of smoke into the lower stratosphere. We used the cloud-resolving plume model ATHAM (Active Tracer High resolution Atmospheric Model) to investigate the importance of different contributing factors to the severe intensification of the convection induced by the Chisholm fire and the subsequent injection of biomass smoke into the lower stratosphere. The simulations show strong sensitivity of the pyro-convection to background meteorology. Magic informationally complete POVMs with permutations

Eigenstates of permutation gates are either stabilizer states (for gates in the Pauli group) or magic states, thus allowing universal quantum computation [M. Planat and Rukhsan-Ul-Haq, Preprint 1701.06443]. We show in this paper that a subset of such magic states, when acting on the generalized Pauli group, define (asymmetric) informationally complete POVMs. Such IC-POVMs, investigated in dimensions $2$ to $12$, exhibit simple finite geometries in their projector products and, for dimensions $4$ and $8$ and $9$, relate to two-qubit, three-qubit and two-qutrit contextuality.

Bakalaura darbs "Brīvmūrniecības izpausmes Krievijas impērijā no 1730.gadiem līdz 1825.gadam" sniedz ieskatu Krievijas brīvmūrniecības vēsturē sākot ar tās izcelšanos 18.gadsimta pirmajā pusē un beidzot ar imperatora Nikolaja I aizliegumu. Šī darba mērķis ir analizēt brīvmūrniecības attīstības gaitu un izpausmes Krievijas impērijā no 1730.gadiem līdz 1825.gadam. Darba ievadnodaļās tiek sniegts vispārīgs ieskats brīvmūrniecības izcelsmē, kā arī dots brīvmūrnieku terminoloģijas un svarīgāko idejisko nostādņu raksturojums. Darba pamatnodaļās ir analizēta brīvmūrnieku darbība Krievijas impērijas politiskajā un sabiedriskajā jomā.
