El presente artículo analiza –como reza su propio título– la contribución canónica a la salvaguarda de la paz en la Edad Media, prestando particular atención al IV Concilio de Letrán (1215). El objetivo del Derecho medieval consistía en la promoción del orden y la paz social, pero ésta se fundaba en la justicia y la verdad. Todo atentado que revistiera un mínimo de gravedad contra estos dos pilares (justicia y verdad) era objeto de respuesta inmediata por el Derecho medieval en general, y por su ordenamiento penal en particular. This paper describes the epidemiology of hospitalised cases with influenza-like illness (ILI) and laboratory- confirmed influenza A cases in Sicily (Italy) during the 2009 influenza pandemic. The first ILI case diagnosed as infected with pandemic influenza A(H1N1)2009 in Sicily was reported in June 2009 and it rapidly became the dominant circulating strain. In the period from 30 April 2009 through 31 December 2010, a total of 2,636 people in Sicily were hospitalised for ILI and 1,193 were laboratory-confirmed for influenza A. Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot kāda sakarība pastāv starp iepazīšanās portālu lietošanas motīviem un tumšās triādes personības iezīmēm. Pētījumā piedalījās 686 Latvijas iepazīšanās portāla Otrapuse.lv lietotāji, 420 sievietes un 266 vīrieši. Pētījumā tika uzmantotas divas aptaujas: Īsā tumšās triādes skala (Short Dark Triad Scale, Jones & Paulhus, 2014). Latvijā metodi adaptējusi Laima Baldiņa (Baldiņa, 2017); Iepazīšanās portāla Otrapuse.lv lietošanas motīvi aptauja ( Tinder Motives Scale (TMS), Timmermans & De Caluwé, 2017). Equivalent-Single-Layer discontinuous Galerkin methods for static analysis of multilayered shells

Abstract An original formulation for the elastic analysis of multilayered shells is presented in this work. The key features of the formulation are: the representation of the shell mean surface via a generic system of curvilinear coordinates; the unified treatment of general shell theories via an Equivalent-Single-Layer approach based on the through-the-thickness expansion of the covariant components of the displacement field; and an Interior Penalty discontinuous Galerkin scheme for the solution of the set of governing equations. Robust stationary entanglement of two coupled qubits in independent environments

The dissipative dynamics of two interacting qubits coupled to independent reservoirs at nonzero temperatures is investigated, paying special attention to the entanglement evolution. The counter-rotating terms in the qubit-qubit interaction give rise to stationary entanglement, traceable back to the ground state structure. The robustness of this entanglement against thermal noise is thoroughly analyzed, establishing that it can be detected at reasonable experimental temperatures. Some effects linked to a possible reservoir asymmetry are brought to light.
