The peach volatilome modularity is reflected at the genetic and environmental response levels in a QTL mapping population

2014

Background: The improvement of fruit aroma is currently one of the most sought-after objectives in peach breeding programs. To better characterize and assess the genetic potential for increasing aroma quality by breeding, a quantity trait locus (QTL) analysis approach was carried out in an F-1 population segregating largely for fruit traits. Results: Linkage maps were constructed using the IPSC peach 9 K Infinium (R) II array, rendering dense genetic maps, except in the case of certain chromosomes, probably due to identity-by-descent of those chromosomes in the parental genotypes. The variability in compounds associated with aroma was analyzed by a metabolomic approach based on GC-MS to pro…

Effect of drying condition on Leonforte peaches

2013

Leonforte peaches ripen in September and October and even as late as November. They are wrapped in paper bags to protect them from the wind and parasites and are harvested only when perfectly ripe. Protected inside the bags, they ripen late and take on a bright yellow colour with red streaks. Wonderfully scented, the peach boasts yellow, firm flesh that is sweet with a distinctive, slightly caramelized flavour. Aim of this paper was to set a drying process for fresh fruit transformation. In fact, the fruit harvest is limited in a very short time, so is important to find a conservation method. Drying process was carried out in a pilot plant setting different temperature and time condition. T…

Long-term monitoring of soil bulk density and erosion rates in two Prunus Persica (L) plantations under flood irrigation and glyphosate herbicide tre…

2021

Abstract Early season fruit production for the northern European market is highly intensive in fertilization, machinery, irrigation and the use of herbicides. Those conditions increase the soil losses and soil compaction and threaten the Sustainable Goals for Development of the United Nations by 2030. Long-term soil erosion measurements are necessary to determine the sustainability of agriculture managements. Moreover, soil erosion on flood irrigation land is a topic that request more surveys and research as rainfed sloping terrains attracted all the attention of scientists and research investment. Improved Stock Unearthing Method (ISUM) was applied to two 15 years-old herbicide treated fie…

Zbuntowana hiperseksowność: demontaż męskiej popkultury według Peaches

2019

Peaches (Merrill Beth Nisker) to jedna z najbardziej kontrowersyjnych postaci popkultury XXI wieku.
