Adolescents’ Stress and Depressive symptoms and Their Associations with Psychological Flexibility before Educational Transition

2023

Introduction: Relatively little is known about individual differences in adolescent psychological flexibility and its associations with symptoms of stress and depression. This study examined different profiles of adolescent stress and depressive symptoms and their associations with developing psychological flexibility before the critical educational transition. Methods: The data were derived from a general sample of 740 Finnish ninth-grade adolescents (Mage = 15.7 years, 57% female) who were assessed twice during the final grade of their basic education. The data were analyzed using growth mixture modeling. Results: Four profiles of stress and depressive symptoms were identified during a sc…

An Overview of Asthma and COVID-19: Protective Factors Against SARS-COV-2 in Pediatric Patients.

2021

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a pandemic infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus SARS-COV-2. Aberrant innate immunity response and cytokine storm are responsible for the syndrome. Apparently, in asthmatic patients, the inadequate antiviral immune response and the tendency for asthma exacerbation evoked by common respiratory viruses could explain increased susceptibility to SARS-COV-2 infection. However, asthma has not been suggested to be a risk factor in COVID-19 patients. Therefore, in asthmatic patients some potential protective mechanisms against SARS-COV-2 have been hypothesized, like type 2 immune response, number of eosinophils, overproduct…

Le patologie oncoematologiche pediatriche

2012

HabitApp: New Play Technologies in Pediatric Cancer to Improve the Psychosocial State of Patients and Caregivers

2020

[EN] Childhood cancer involves long periods of hospitalization that trigger emotions such as fear or sadness. Previous research has studied the positive effects of technology games on improving the hospitalization experience, but most do not focus on caregivers and none allow interaction with the real time observation of a zoo. The present study evaluates the impact of HabitApp and assesses the short-term impact on the psychosocial state of patients and caregivers in order to improve the hospitalization experience. The participants in this study were 39 patients plus 39 caregivers. A quantitative analysis revealed a significant improvement in patient's and caregiver's psychosocial factors f…

Psychotraumatology in Pediatric Psychology: duplicity or integration of trauma in pediatric emergencies? A theoretical operational framework

2023

The study is the expression of the work carried out by the Italian Society of Pediatric Psychology (S.I.P.Ped.) and presents the theoretical and operational framework of the child and adolescent trauma in Pediatric emergency, which is defined in Pediatric Psychology through the approach of the Psychotraumatology, In this sense, the fundamentals of this approach are: • the type of trauma that develops while the event that caused it takes place and not after it has ended. This time can persist and could cause an atypical development. • the nature of the trauma is explained as an “aggregate” between organic trauma and psychic trauma. In this sense, the study underlines how this aggregate gives…

Towards a New System for the Assessment of the Quality in Care Pathways: An Overview of Systematic Reviews.

2020

Clinical or care pathways are developed by a multidisciplinary team of healthcare practitioners, based on clinical evidence, and standardized processes. The evaluation of their framework/content quality is unclear. The aim of this study was to describe which tools and domains are able to critically evaluate the quality of clinical/care pathways. An overview of systematic reviews was conducted, according to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses, using Medline, Embase, Science Citation Index, PsychInfo, CINAHL, and Cochrane Library, from 2015 to 2020, and with snowballing methods. The quality of the reviews was assessed with Assessment the Methodology of Systemati…
