A 7-year-old female was admitted for worsening swelling under her tongue associated with fever and difficulty swallowing. She had sustained head and neck bicycle handlebar trauma 2 weeks before the admission. She was noted to have a cystic and ballotable mass appearing in the floor of mouth. The lesion was evaluated by an otorhinolaryngologist who aspirated 15 mL of mucoid- appearing fluid, which led to collapse of the floor of mouth swelling and alleviation of dysphagia. In the 1st group of 15 infants, all of them suffered from rickets, clinically, biochemistry and radiologically and no prophylactic vitamin D administration could be demonstrated. Resistance to antibiotics is also a changing issue. These all have to be considered when treating Community acquired pneumonia (CAP). In this document, two of the main Spanish pediatric societies involved in the treatment of CAP in children, propose a consensus concerning therapeutic approach. Cardiac sonography has only recently been introduced as a diagnostic procedure. In order to facilitate the interpretation and evaluation of the ultrasonic cardiac cross-section displayed by this two-dimensional technique, we performed anatomic cross-sections corresponding to ultrasonic cross-sections. The ultrasonic cross-sectional images were taken from children with a real-time-motion scanner. The anatomic cross-sections were taken from adult hearts.
