Modified-Mathieu's technique: a variation of the classic procedure for hypospadias surgical repair

Distal penile curvature associated with anterior hypospadias can be corrected by urethral plate mobilization. The authors present 11 cases, in which this procedure was performed modifying the classic Mathieu's technique in the surgical treatment of coronal and distal shaft hypospadias associated with chordee. Performing this modified-Mathieu's technique, excellent results, both functional and cosmetic, are obtained without any complication.
Effectiveness of platinum wire microcoils for venous occlusion: A study on patients treated for venogenic impotence

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of venous occlusions achieved by embolization with platinum microwire coils. Follow-up venographies in 19 patients, 1-20 months (average 8 months) after coil embolizations, were evaluated. Twenty-eight of 126 (22.2%) coil embolizations were found to be patent. Coils which had not formed or partially formed upon embolization had a patency/recanalization rate of 37.5% (12/32). Among coils which had formed nearly completely or completely only 16 of 95 (17%) showed venous patency. Prolactin promotes the growth and function of the prostate in low doses, whereas high doses or previous castration reduce this effect. The antiprolactin bromocriptin should reverse the prolactin action. In the castrated dog the highest accumulation of H3-testosterone given i.v. occurred in the prostate as compared with muscle, urethra, penis, liver and kidney. Prolactin pretreatment increased the radiosteroid uptake only in the liver. Converseley, bromocriptin suppressed the tracer incorporation into the liver, but increased prostatic accumulation. We report our experience with penile dermal flaps in patients with penile curvature due to Peyronie's disease. Objectives: We report the results of a derma graft corporoplasty in a selected group of patients with congenital penile curvature (CPC) who refused a simple plication technique for the risk of penile shortening, even if minimal. OBJECTIVE To determine whether the intracavernosal application of growth differentiation factor-5 (GDF-5) influences nerve regeneration and erectile function after cavernosal nerve injury in a rat model. MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty-two male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four equal groups: eight had a sham operation (uninjured controls), while 24 had bilateral cavernosal nerve crush.
