Abstract Inverse correlated 2D 1H-13C NMR spectroscopy was used to follow the metabolism of vanillin (1) in vivo by plant cell suspension cultures of Nicotiana plumbaginifolia at the natural abundance of 13C. Under the non-invasive conditions four products could be detected: vanillylalcohol (2), vanillinglucoside (3) and the phenolic and benzylic glucosides of vanillylalcohol (4 and 5).

Polyacroleine wurden in wasriger Suspension und in einem Pyridin-Wasser-Gemisch in Anwesenheit von basischen Katalysatoren mit Formaldehyd umgesetzt. Die Reaktions-produkte enthalten, in Abhangigkeit von den Versuchsbedingungen, neben Carboxylgruppen hauptsachlich primare Alkoholgruppen. Die chemischen Eigenschaften und Vergleiche mit polymeren Modellsubstanzen lassen darauf schliesen, das die gewonnenen Polymeren im wesentlichen aus Methylen-propandiol-1,3-Grundbausteinen aufgebaut sind. A new class of porphyrin(Pp)/Fe co-loaded TiO2 composites opportunely prepared by impregnation of [5,10,15,20-tetra(4-tert-butylphenyl)] porphyrin (H2Pp) or Cu(II)[5,10,15,20-tetra(4-tert-butylphenyl)] porphyrin (CuPp) onto Fe-loaded TiO2 particles showed high activities by carrying out the degradation of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) as probe reaction in aqueous suspension under heterogeneous photo-Fenton-like reactions by using UV-visible light. The combination of porphyrin-Fe-TiO2 in the presence of H2O2 showed to be more efficient than the simple bare TiO2 or Fe-TiO2.
Carbohydrates in Jerusalem artichoke powder suspension

Purpose – The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of temperature and action time on the extraction rate of carbohydrates of Jerusalem artichoke concentrate powder and inactivation of inulin during boiling and sterilization.Design/methodology/approach – Water suspension of Jerusalem artichoke concentrate (5g/100ml) at 25, 50 and 100○C was tested after 5, 15, 30 and 60min to determine the content of inulin, glucose, fructose and sucrose and evaluate the extraction rate. The stability of inulin was studied after boiling and sterilization at 120○C during 1, 2 and 3h.
