This contribution describes the synthesis and structural characterization of a triaminoguanidinium (TAG)-based ligand [H6(OMe)3Limin]BF4 (1) containing imine bonds (Limin) and its reduction with a dimethylamino borane complex to the corresponding amine compound (Lamin)[H9(OMe)3Lamin]OTs (2). In solution, both ligands are C3-symmetric but crystal structures show the great influence of the reduction on the molecular structure. We show that the planar imine ligand is converted to a highly flexible compound which has nine potential coordination sites, three phenoxy and six amine donors, for binding metal ions. First solid state structures of 1:1 (metal:ligand) coordination compounds with SnIV a…
Mono-aryltin(IV) and mono-benzyltin(IV) complexes with pyridine-2-carboxylic acid and 8-hydroxyquinoline. X-ray structure of p-chloro-phenyl-tris(8-q…

Abstract Complexes RSn(O2CPy)3·2H2O and RSn(Ox)3, (PyCOOH=pyridine-2-carboxylic acid, HOx=8-hydroxyquinoline, R=o- and p-Tolyl, o- and p-ClC6H4=o- and p-ClPh, o-ClC6H4CH2=o-ClBenzyl; besides, R=Ph in RSn(Ox)3) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and determination of molecular weights in CHCl3 solutions. The structure of p-ClPhSn(Ox)3·2CHCl3 has been determined by X-ray diffractometry. The 7-coordinated tin atom of the monomeric compound is in the center of a pentagonal bipyramid formed by (p-ClPh)C and O and N atoms of the chelating Ox− ligands. The latter type of structure would hold for all complexes according to 119Sn Mossbauer (including the determination of th…
The First Examples of a Crown Ether Intramolecularly Encapsulating Mono- and Diorganotin Dications: Synthesis and Structures of [PhSnCH2([16]crown-5)…

The reaction of silver perchlorate with [PhI 2 SnCH 2 ([16]crown-5)] (1) and [I 3 SnCH 2 ([16]crown-5)] (2) gave the organotin(IV)-substituted crown ether complexes [PhSnCH 2 ([16]crown-5)][ClO 4 ] 2 (3) and [HOSnCH 2 ([16]crown-5)][Y] 2 (4: Y= ClO 4 , 5: Y=CF3 S 03 ) , respectively. All compounds have been isolated as air-stable materials and characterised by 1 H, 13 C, 119 Sn and 119 Sn MAS (5) NMR spectroscopy, ESIMS spectrometry, elemental analysis and by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The molecular structures of 3-5 show that the tin(IV) cation fits perfectly into the crown ether cavity and is coordinated by the five oxygen atoms of the ring to give a pentagonal bipyramidal…
Towards oxalate-bridged iron(ii), cobalt(ii), nickel(ii) and zinc(ii) complexes through oxotris(oxalato)niobate(v): an open air non-oxidizing synthet…

Four compounds with the formula [M2(dmphen)4(μ-C2O4)](ClO4)2·2dmso [M = Fe (1), Co (2) and Zn (4); dmphen = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline] and [Ni2(dmphen)4(μ-C2O4)]3[NbO(C2O4)3]2·16H2O (3) have been synthesized using the tris(oxalato)oxoniobate(V) complex anion as the oxalate source, and their structures have been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. X-ray quality crystals of highly insoluble oxalate-bridged species were obtained by taking advantage of the slow release of oxalate by the tris(oxalato)oxoniobate(V) complex anion. The structures of 1–4 all contain oxalate-bridged dimetal(II) units with didentate dmphen molecules acting as end-cap ligands; electroneutrality is ac…
