Experimental Tests to Validate a Simple Procedure to Design Dual-Diameter Drip Laterals on Flat Fields

Multiple-diameter laterals reduce the total cost in microirrigation systems, however, the length of each sublateral should be determined carefully to assure appro-priate performance of emitter flow rates. The most accurate method is the numerical trial and error, which is time-consuming. A series of research efforts have been made to propose simple analytical design procedures. By using the power-law form of the Darcy-Weisbach formula, and equal emitters spacing for the sublaterals, Sadeghi et al. This paper analyses the value and meaning of the concepts "reality" and "fantasy" in Pere Calders' literary world, as the foundations of a literary attitude upholding the imaginary and the fantastic and facing realistic literature of committed or testimonial nature. Secondly, it analyses the author's critiques of positivist scientism and his claim of art and literature as gnoseological alternatives. The sequences of the genes coding for a hydroxyproline-rich glycoprotein from two varieties of maize (Zea mays, Ac1503 and W22), a teosinte (Zea diploperennis) and sorghum (Sorghum vulgare) have been obtained and compared. Distinct patterns of variability have been observed along their sequences. The 500 bp region immediately upstream of the TATA box is highly conserved in the Zea species and contains stretches of sequences also found in the sorghum gene. Further upstream, significant rearrangements are observed, even between the two maize varieties. The article contains a philological study of this section of the manuscript, with particular attention to the relationship between the Catalan version of the Danse macabre and its French sources: this study serves as an introduction to a new critical edition of the Catalan translation proposed in the second part of the article. The article intends to make a contribution of new documentary references, from the notarial funds of the Valencian archives, in which news about parish crosses and Lignum Crucis from the silversmith center of Valencia during the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries are collected. El síndrome de hiperestimulación ovárico (SHO) es una de las más temidas complicaciones de las técnicas de reproducción asistida (TRA). Es una patología iatrogénica que puede presentarse en formas moderadas y graves y, en algunos casos, llevar la paciente a la muerte. Mujeres sometidas a las TRA necesitan pasar por un proceso denominado hiperestimulación ovárica controlada (HOC) este proceso puede tener una respuesta exacerbada en hasta un 20% de los casos y la evolución para SHO en su forma grave en aproximadamente un 4%.
