2021
The commented sentence rejects that the Muñoz Díaz doctrine is applicable to all cases of gypsy marriage. In addition, it considers that the denial of effects to the union celebrated according to said rite is not discriminatory. This conclusion is discussed, understanding that the analysis of the singularities of the gypsy people must lead to the conclusion of the existence of indirect discrimination.
Exposición pre y postnatal a mercurio y presión arterial en preescolares
2019
Research update for articles published in EJCI in 2016

The association of an excessive blood pressure increase with exercise (i.e., an increase in systolic blood pressure with exercise ≥95th percentile) with lower risk of subsequent events in patients with known or suspected coronary artery disease has been consistently verified even in those with baseline hypertension. Nonetheless, this negative association, also confirmed in another study on a Japanese population, might depend on peak VO2, such that the prognostic value of blood pressure response might be limited in patients with preserved exercise capacity. In addition, a hypertensive response with exercise (defined as a systolic blood pressure ≥220 mmHg during the test) has also been associ…
cardiovascular effects of I/D angiotensin converting enzyme gene polymorphismin healty subjects: Findings after follow-up of six years
2005
Background - An increasing number of studies with conflicting results regarding the association between angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene deletion polymorphism and cardiovascular disease has recently been published. The present prospective long-term study was conducted to evaluate whether the DD genotype could also be associated with a higher prevalence of hypertension in healthy subjects over 6 years of follow-up. We also investigated the effects of the ACE-I/D genotypes on diastolic function by echocardiography in healthy subjects without any risk factors and any events after 6 years of follow-up. Methods - Population: 684 healthy volunteers (aged 25-55 years) normotensive and free…
La casa ipertestuale. Le stanze e lo spazio-soglia
2008
Come abiteremo domani”).
Accuracy of doppler echocardiography in measuring right-heart pressure in patients with pulmonary hypertension
2010
The assessment of pulmonary pressure is of great clinical importance not only for diagnostic purposes, but also for prognosis in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension. The present study was undertaken on a consecutive basis with a group of patients who had had a previous diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension based on echocardiography, and were referred to our institute. The aim of this study was to determine how accurate Doppler echocardiography is in measuring right-heart pressures.
Cardiovascular Outcomes of Cholinesterase Inhibitors in Individuals with Dementia: A Meta-Analysis and Systematic Review
2018
Objectives: To evaluate the cardiovascular (CV) effects of acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (AChEIs) in individuals with dementia. Design: Systematic review and meta-analysis. Setting: Two authors independently searched major electronic databases from inception until June 17, 2017, for longitudinal (without a control group) and cohort (with a control group) studies reporting CV outcomes in relation to AChEIs. Randomized controlled trials were excluded because they included relatively healthy subjects. Participants: Individuals with dementia and controls. Measurements: Changes in CV parameters were summarized using standardized mean differences (SMDs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Even…
