Macroeconomic determinants of Peruvian migration flows
2020
The objective of this paper is to determine the variables associated with the weight that Peruvian immigration has in the total immigration in Chile for the period 2005-2014. The initial hypothesis is that the Peruvian migratory flow has a social and economic component. The results showed that an increase in the Human Development Index (HDI) in favor of Chile increases the migratory flow. On the other hand, a larger education budget in favor of Chile decreases the migratory flow of Peruvian citizens.

2016
<p>This article is based on the case study which focuses on the small class (in this article used to describe a small special needs class) operation of one medium-sized Finnish town. The results of the study showed that a large part of the pupils who come to the small classes had learning difficulties, and attention and behavioural disorders. I…

Characteristics of Workplace Learning Among Finnish Vocational Students
2009
In Finnish VET, students’ work experience is explicitly defined as workplace learning, instead of the practice of already learnt skills. Therefore, vocational students’ learning periods in the workplace are goal-oriented, guided and assessed. This paper examines the characteristics of students’ workplace learning and compares them with the characteristics of employees’ workplace learning. The data were collected with an Internet questionnaire from final-year vocational students (N = 3106). In total, 1603 students (52 %) answered the questionnaire. The data were analysed using quantitative methods. The results indicate that features typical of employees’ workplace learning can also be found …
The case of literacy motivation : Playful 3D immersive learning environments and problem-focused education for blended digital storytelling
2018
The University of Patras' Library Services designed and offered to primary and secondary schools the pilot educational program “From the Ancient to the Modern Tablets”, featuring immersive multimedia learning experiences about the book history. The pilot program consisted of three stages: a playful library tour, followed by an interactive game-based digital storytelling activity with game elements, and a collaborative creative reflective hands-on activity. Utilizing the avatar psychology power, the visualization and simulation affordances of 3D immersive learning environments and the appeal of storytelling and game-based learning, the “gamified” blended narrative on the book evolution enabl…

Aim Satisfaction with life is a measure of protection in older adults. There lies the importance of providing quality instruments. Method The participants were 857 older adults in Spain (mean age = 68.23 years, SD = 5.93) and 336 older adults in Peru (average age = 72.42, SD = 7.07). All multi-group confirmatory factor analyzes were estimated in Mplus 8.0. Results The results indicate the presence of a strict invariance of the one-dimensional structure of the SWLS in samples of older adults in Spain and Peru, which allows for meaningful comparisons of l…
Bioactive Constituents of Juniperus turbinata Guss. from La Maddalena Archipelago.
2018
A comprehensive phytochemical study of Juniperus turbinata (Cupressaceae) collected from La Maddalena Archipelago (Sardinia, Italy) is reported. Both the essential oil and the ethanolic extract obtained from the aerial parts were analyzed. The essential oil appears to belong to a new chemotype compared to other Mediterranean juniper accessions, as it was favored by geographic isolation of the isles. It showed a low content of monoterpene hydrocarbons and -terpineol, ent-manoyl oxide, 1,10-di-epi-cubenol as the major constituents. The ethanolic fraction contained mainly diterpenoids. Among these, 15-formyloxyimbricatolic acid (7) is a new natural product since it has hitherto been obtained o…
