Un/doing calculation: on knowledge practices of risk management

From small enterprises all the way up to financial markets, economic calculation is an activity routinely conducted in economic life-worlds. This paper argues that calculation is situated in the practice of participants involved in these life-worlds as well as in the technological tools they use. It champions a sociological analysis of the world-constituting character of calculation. As empirical examples the paper discusses risk management strategies, the embeddedness of calculation practices in banking infrastructure, and the process of internal rating procedures. Entrepreneurial universities: A bibliometric analysis within the business and management domains

Abstract This study presents a bibliometric analysis of scientific publications investigating entrepreneurial universities in the business and management fields. The authors collected 511 documents from the Web of Science and analysed them using Bibliometrix, an RStudio package for performance analysis and science mapping. The study aims to provide an overview of the evolution of research about this topic and describe the structures (i.e., conceptual, social, and intellectual) characterising it. In this article, we examine the hierarchization of international students by bringing together perspectives of linguistic legitimacy and language ideologies. Our data stems from 26 accent reduction (AR) or accent modification (AM) course descriptions and websites from US universities. Based on their analysis, we discuss the socio-political implications of the phenomenon of these courses for international students and the ways in which language-based, particularly accent-based, arguments are used to create or reinforce different categories of students. Hybrid third sector organizations in Finland – Arts and cultural institutions in focus

This article examines hybrid organizations in the field of culture. The main two objectives of the article are 1) to examine the differences between public theatre organizations and third sector theatre organizations and 2) to study hybrid theatres in relation to public and third sector organizations. Hybrid theatres are private as to their legal status, but under municipal control. First the theories and definitions of hybridity and the overlapping between sectors are summarized. Empirical examination includes 31 big and medium-sized professional Finnish theatre institutions.
