Aggression towards Referees in Amateur Football in Spain: A Loglinear Approach

Aggressive behavior towards football referees is becoming increasingly common, and as a result we are getting used to it and coming to see it as an inevitable and intrinsic element of football matches. Spectators, players and coaches are all prone to take this view. This article studies how the types of aggression shown by these three groups towards the referee are related to one another, and how they are perceived by the referee, in amateur football. For this purpose, the phenomenon was assessed, using an ad-hoc form, both by an expert and by the referee, in 119 regional and youth football matches in the city of Valencia and surrounding municipalities. The present research aims at understanding how the same body may became object of aggression and destruction by adolescents' self-injurious behaviours. Particularly, self-injurious behaviours are those finalised to destruction or deliberate alteration of one's body, even if without a conscious suicidal intention. The research aims at studying the relationship between educational styles, self-injurious behaviours and the social representation of the phenomenon in a group of adolescents aged between 15 and 19 years. Adaptive rational interpolation for point values

Abstract G. Ramponi et al. introduced in Carrato et al. (1997,1998), Castagno and Ramponi (1996) and Ramponi (1995) a non linear rational interpolator of order two. In this paper we extend this result to get order four. We observe the Gibbs phenomenon that is obtained near discontinuities with its weights. With the weights we propose we obtain approximations of order four in smooth regions and three near discontinuities. We also introduce a rational nonlinear extrapolation which is also of order four in the smooth region of the given function. Abstract The present paper arose from recent studies of energy-minimal deformations of planar domains. We are concerned with the Dirichlet energy. In general the minimal mappings need not be homeomorphisms. In fact, a part of the domain near its boundary may collapse into the boundary of the target domain. In mathematical models of nonlinear elasticity this is interpreted as interpenetration of matter. We call such occurrence the Nitsche phenomenon, after Nitsche’s remarkable conjecture (now a theorem) about existence of harmonic homeomorphisms between annuli. This paper is based on the talk by one of the authors (DL) given at the symposium for the retirement of RF Thompson (RF Thompson: A bridge between 20th and 21st century neuroscience). We first make some informal observations of the historical times and research conditions in the Thompson laboratory when the cerebellum was found to play a critical role in eye lid classical conditioning, the "cerebellar years". These conditions influenced our collaborative international program on the phenomenon known as "transfer of training" or "savings". The phenomenon commonly known as subjective accenting refers to the fact that identical sound events within purely isochronous sequences are perceived as unequal. Although subjective accenting has been extensively explored using behavioral methods, no physiological evidence has ever been provided for it.
