The ultrasounds-ionic liquids synergy on the copper catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition between phenyl acetylene and 4-azidoquinoline

Abstract The effect of ultrasound irradiation on the copper catalyzed azide–alkyne cycloaddition between phenylacetylene and 4-azidoquinoline has been studied in solution of different ionic liquids. In particular, we used ionic liquids featuring both aliphatic and aromatic mono- and dications, as well as anions differing in size, symmetry and coordination ability. We also examined the influence of the ionic liquids structural features on the reaction outcomes, finding that under magnetic stirring reactivity is favorably affected by the solvent structural organization, while under sonochemical conditions an opposite trend was observed. Methyl abstraction from neutral [Cp2ZrMe(ERR′)] complexes 1 (E = N, P; R, R′ = alkyl, aryl) with either B(C6F5)3 or [Ph3C][B(C6F5)4] results in the formation of [Cp2Zr(ERR′)][X] complexes 2 (X– = MeB(C6F5)3–, B(C6F5)4–). The X-ray structure of amido complexes [Cp2Zr(NPh2)][MeB(C6F5)3] (2d) and [Cp2Zr(NtBuAr)][B(C6F5)4] (2e′, Ar = 3,5-C6H3(CH3)2) is reported, showing a sterically dependent Zr/N−π interaction. Complexes 2 catalyze the hydrogenation of electron-rich olefins and alkynes under mild conditions (room temperature, 1.5 bar H2). Complex 2e binds CO2, giving [Cp2Zr(CO2)(NtBuAr)]2[MeB(C6F5)3]2 (3e). Synthesis of enol esters catalysed by 'early–late' Ti–Ru complexes

Abstract The titane–ruthenium heterobimetallic compounds ( p -cymene)[(η 5 -C 5 H 5 )(μ-η 5 :η 1 -C 5 H 4 (CH 2 ) m PR 2 )TiCl 2 ]RuCl 2 4 – 6 have been revealed to be quite good catalysts for the addition of formic acid to 1-hexyne and phenylacetylene. These preliminary results led us to synthesize new tetrametallic complexes 10 – 12 via the reaction of the titanocene phosphanes 1 – 3 with the polymer [Ru(CO) 2 (μ-O 2 CH)] n . Their catalytic ability for the enol esters formation has been studied.

Abstract Pumice-supported copper–palladium catalysts prepared from organometallic precursor have been tested in the hydrogenation of phenylacetylene and in the hydrogenation/isomerization of the but-1-ene. The structure and catalytic behaviour of the bimetallic catalysts depended on the different temperatures of reduction. The presence of CuO or Cu metal in an alloyed state with Pd influenced the two reactions. The system containing CuO is the most active and selective towards the formation of the monoalkene in the hydrogenation of the highly unsaturated hydrocarbon. Titanium imido complexes stabilised by bis(iminophosphoranyl)methanide ligands: the influence of N-substituents on solution dynamics and reactivity

Terminal titanium imido complexes of the general formula [Ti(N(t)Bu)Cl{CH(Ph2PNR)2}] 4 (R = Ph, (i)Pr, (t)Bu) are reported. These compounds were synthesized from the corresponding Li adducts 3 of BIPMH (bis(iminophosphoranyl)methanide) and Mountford's complex [Ti(N(t)Bu)Cl2(Py)3]. The crystal structures of two of the Ti complexes (R = Ph, (t)Bu) and two of the Li compounds (R = (i)Pr, (t)Bu) are reported. Dynamic solution NMR spectroscopy reveals a dynamic isomerisation process in the case of the Ti complex 4c (R = (t)Bu). Synthesis and characterization of poly(phenylacetylenes) featuring activated ester side groups

Four monomers based on 4-ethynylbenzoic acid have been synthesized, one of those featuring an activated ester. With the metathesis catalytic system WCI 6 /Ph 4 Sn, these acetylenic monomers could successfully be polymerized yielding conjugated polymers with molecular weights of around 10,000 to 15,000 g/mol and molecular weight distributions M w / M n < 2.1. Also the copolymerization of phenylacetylene or methyl 4-ethynylbenzoate with pentafluorophenyl 4-ethynyl-benzoate as reactive unit was conducted. The oligomerisation of phenylacetylenes with rhodium(I) and P ligands as the catalytic system

Abstract The dependence of the oligomerisation of phenylacetylene to cyclotrimers and dimers upon a Rh(I) complex with different P ligands as the catalytic system has been studied. The influence of substituents in the phenyl ring of the substrate has been examined as well. A selective cyclotrimerisation of phenylacetylenes is achieved with [1,5-C6H10RhCl]2 as the catalyst. A decrease of the selectivity appears with very bulky o-substituents or a substitution in the 2,6-position of phenylacetylene. The photochemistry of some 5-aryl-3-methoxy- (or 5-aryl-3-phenyl-) 1,2,4-oxadiazoles irradiated in the presence of different sensitizers [such as diphenylacetylene (DAC), 9,10-diphenylanthracene (DAN), or triphenylene (TPH)] or ground-state donors such as triethylamine (TEA) has been investigated. Intermediates arising from breaking of the ring O-N bond develop both into quinazolin-4-ones (by a heterocyclization reaction involving the aryl at the C-5 of the oxadiazole nucleus) and into open-chain products (corresponding to a reduction at the ring O-N bond), in different ratios depending on their structures and photoreaction conditions.
