Over the past 15 years several expeditions by French, American and especially Italian cavers have unveiled over 50 caves in the Cordillera de la Sal (Atacama Desert, Northern Chile). Many of these caves contain a variety of speleothems and minerals, some of which have rarely been observed within karst systems. Most of the secondary deposits in these caves are composed of halite, but also other halide, carbonate, sulphate, nitrate, phosphate, and silicate minerals have been found. Among the sixteen cave mineral species recognized, atacamite, darapskite, blödite, leonite, anhydrite, and especially antarcticite are worth mentioning. Nitrogen broadening of SF6 transitions in the nu3 band

Abstract Nitrogen induced pressure-broadened halfwidths of a number of ν3 transitions of SF6 are calculated using the complex Robert–Bonamy (CRB) formalism. The calculations are made at 200, 250, 296 and 350 K and the temperature dependence of the halfwidths are determined. The intermolecular potential is taken as a sum of the leading electrostatic and Lennard-Jones [6] , [7] , [8] , [9] , [10] , [11] , [12] atom–atom components. The dynamics of the collision process are correct to second order in time. Abstract More than half of unintentional flood-related drowning deaths in Australia are due to driving through floodwater, despite on-going public campaigns. Currently, there is a knowledge gap in understanding why individuals choose to drive through floodwater and the decisions that may lead to such actions. We propose that a more complete understanding of individuals’ decisions to drive through floodwater needs to be considered in the context of the lived experience. International audience; Agriculture in southern Greenland has a two-phase history: with the Norse, who first settled and farmed the region between 985ad and circa 1450ad, and with the recent reintroduction of sheep farming (1920ad to the present). The agricultural sector in Greenland is expected to grow over the next century as anticipated climate warming extends the length of the growing season and increases productivity.
