Synthesis of the first imidazolyl-triphosphines containing a Triphos unit

Abstract Since biphasic liquid–liquid continuous-flow catalytic processes often require the use of cationic phosphine ligands for the metal sequestration in the polar phase, we have prepared the first imidazolyl triphosphines, named Triphosim and Triphosmim. These ligands contain the Triphos unit [-P(CH2CH2PPh2)] which is linked to the imidazole fragment and have been obtained in three steps from imidazole (or 2-methylimidazole), diethylvinylphosphonate and diphenylvinylphosphine with global yields of 42–48%. N-Benzyl Residues as the P1′ Substituents in Phosphorus-Containing Extended Transition State Analog Inhibitors of Metalloaminopeptidases

Peptidyl enzyme inhibitors containing an internal aminomethylphosphinic bond system (P(O)(OH)-CH2-NH) can be termed extended transition state analogs by similarity to the corresponding phosphonamidates (P(O)(OH)-NH). Phosphonamidate pseudopeptides are broadly recognized as competitive mechanism-based inhibitors of metalloenzymes, mainly hydrolases. Their practical use is, however, limited by hydrolytic instability, which is particularly restricting for dipeptide analogs. Self-assembly in surfactant-based mixtures driven by acid–base reactions: bis(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid–n-octylamine systems

Structural and dynamic features of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid (HDEHP)-n-octylamine (NOA) mixtures as a function of the NOA mole fraction (X-NOA) have been investigated by SAXS, WAXS, IR, dielectric spectroscopy and polarized optical microscopy. In the 0 <= X-NOA < 0.5 range, mixtures are transparent liquids, while the abrupt formation of a waxy solid characterized by an hexagonal bidimensional structure occurs at X-NOA = 0.5. Solution-processed blue emitters are essential for low-cost organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) but still face challenges due to their poor color purity, low efficiency and limited operational stability. ChemInform Abstract: nBuLi-Mediated Hydrophosphination: A Simple Route to Valuable Organophosphorus Compounds.

A straightforward synthesis of homoallyl- and allylphosphanes has been developed using nBuLi-mediated hydrophosphination of conjugated dienes. In all the cases the phosphorus atom of the reacting phosphane attacked the sterically less demanding side of the diene exclusively. In addition, high regioselectivities towards 1,2- or 1,4-addition products were observed depending on the nature of the dienes. This hydrophosphination reaction was extended to a variety of substrates such as styrene derivatives, alkynes and 1,3,5-cycloheptatriene. The structures of three hydrophosphination products were confirmed by X-ray diffraction studies.

Abstract The mechanism of the reaction of phosphoryl fluoride ( P(O)F) with alcohols in the presence of an amine is fundamentally different from the reaction of phosphoryl chlorides ( P(O)Cl) with primary or secondary amines. The following observations strongly support this proposal: 1. 1H-NMR-, 31P-NMR- and 19F-NMR-spectroscopic investigations show that methyl-phenyl-phosphinicacid-fluoride and n-butylamine form a thermolabile adduct, which yields the methyl-phenyl-phosphinicacid-amide only very slowly. 2. Prospects of in vivo 31P NMR method in glyphosate degradation studies in whole cell system

Abstract The degradation of the phosphonate herbicide glyphosate ( N -phosphonomethylglycine) by four taxonomically distinct microorganisms was studied in vivo in whole cell system using phosphorus nuclear magnetic spectroscopy ( 31 P NMR). The time-course of glyphosate metabolization in dense cell cultures was followed by means of 31 P NMR up to 21 days after the addition. The results obtained by this non-invasive way confirmed that the cells of Spirulina platensis and Streptomyces lusitanus biodegrade herbicide. Arginine-glycine(-glycine) (RG/RGG) regions are highly abundant in RNA-binding proteins and involved in numerous physiological processes. Aberrant liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) and stress granule (SGs) association of RG/RGG regions in the cytoplasm have been implicated in several neurodegenerative disorders. Purification of recovered phosphoric acid by extracting aluminium with di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid

AbstractThe extraction of aluminium from dilute phosphoric acid with di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid (DEHPA) was optimized using response surface methodology. The optimization was based on the experimental three-level central composite face-centred design (CCF) and was conducted on real-life samples. The three variables included were pH, extractant concentration and aqueous to organic phase ratio (AO). Under the optimized conditions (pH 2.5, 0.6 M DEHPA and AO ratio 1:2), extraction efficiency of 99% for aluminium in four extraction stages is achieved.
