International audience; The excitation of surface plasmon-polariton (SPP) waveguide modes in 500-nm-wide and 550-nm-high dielectric ridges deposited on a thin gold film is characterized at telecommunication wavelengths, by application of a scanning near-field optical microscope (SNOM), and by utilizing the finite element method (FEM). Different tapering structures for coupling in SPPs, excited at the bare gold-air interface, are investigated with a SNOM, and the dependence of in coupling efficiency on tapering length is characterized by means of FEM calculations. Within the quick nano-fabrication techniques evolution and the increasing needs in low space and energy opto-electronic functions on-chip integration, studies and control of electromagnetic resonances of sub-micrometric objects are crucial issues. Towards Kerr optical frequency combs in a Brillouin fiber laser cavity

In this contribution, we investigate a simple and reconfigurable all-fiber ring cavity to generate tunable Kerr optical frequency combs in both 1.55-and 2-µm spectral bands. We demonstrate that coherent frequency combs can be obtained by finely exploiting both stimulated Brillouin backscattering and cascaded four-wave mixing in the nonlinear fiber cavity.
Demonstration of polarization pulling in a fiber-optical parametric amplifier

International audience; We report the experimental demonstration of all-optical polarization pulling of an initially polarization-scrambled signal using a fiber-optical parametric amplifier. Nonlinear polarization pulling has been achieved for both the signal and idler with 25 dB gain.
