Ahromatopsijas izpausmju korekcija ar krāsainām kontaktlēcām

MĒRĶIS: Novērtēt filtru kontaktlēcu (KL) pielietojumu ahromatopsijas simptomu korekcijai. METODE: Pētījumā piedalījās 8 dalībnieki (6 sievietes un 2 vīrieši) vecumā no 8 mēnešiem līdz 25 gadiem, periodā no 2012. līdz 2016.gadam. Pēc oftalmoloģiskās pārbaudes un ahromatopsijas noteikšanas, tika veikta speciālās krāsainās KL pielaikošanas procedūra. Pacientu atbildes tika noteiktas ar anketas palīdzību un noteikts apžilbšanas laiks ar un bez piedāvātām KL. SECINĀJUMI: filtru KL samazināja fotofobiju; apžilbšanas laiks kļuvis salīdzināms ar normālā redzes gadījumu; dalībnieki atzinīgi novērtē psiholoģiskos un sociālos ieguvumus ar izrakstītām filtru KL.

Migraine vertigo (MV) and Ménière's disease (MD) share several signs and symptoms such as tinnitus, fullness, photophobia, phonophobia, headache and vertigo spells lasting hours.The aim of the present study was to prospectively observe patients with MV with a sporadic audiological symptom evaluated with clinical examination, Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials (VEMPs), ECochG and v-HIT.The finding of VEMP asymmetry, according to our cut-off of 33% of difference between sides, resulted in 20 cases, of which 6 had asymmetry of both c-VEMPs and o-VEMPS, all with development of fluctuating hearing during follow-up. Migraine is a disabling neurovascular disorder, characterized by moderate to severe unilateral headaches, nausea, photophobia, and/or phonophobia, with a higher prevalence in women than in men, which can drastically affect the quality of life of migraine patients. In addition, this chronic disorder is related with metabolic comorbidities associated with the patient's lifestyle, including obesity and diabetes mellitus (DM).
